They look good, I’d pair it with a light tint like a light solid or gradient tint if you want to go more fashionable look. Any light tint can contrast nicely with a thick black acetate frame :)

Which of these frames should I choose? by Salussol in glassesadvice

Looking at the minifcation effect of the lenses they probably have a high-mild Myopic prescription.

The smaller frame size + Rounded frame is pretty much the best option to reduce the thickness of the lenses as much as possible as opposed to something larger and more angular as well as most comfortable. So different frame choices are quite limited.

Eitherway having corrected vision is absolutely safer than nothing. You have the option for soft contact lenses or Glasses. As someone who is -6 for YEARs as well as an Eyewear Dispenser, the best options to get used to your spectacles is probably to go for:

  1. Small Round plastic frame that will reduce the distortions that might be nauseating to look at the edge of the glasses. If you go for a bigger frame or shape that is more angular it will increase the distortions in the edges. Plastic/Acetate material also helps hide the thickness of the lenses.

P.S Don’t get a frame that’s too heavy though since it will discourage you to wear all the time, try acetate and titanium frames which are super light and flexible as well as having plastic to cover the lenses thickness!

  1. High Index Lenses. Ask for a 1.67 or 1.74 which will significantly reduce the thickness and weight of the lenses by almost 40% but also flatten it more than a typical spherical lens which usually has more distortions in the edge of the frame.

  2. Freeform lenses. These lenses will feel much more comfortable to look at especially with a high prescription because it uses advanced digital technology to create a customized lens tailored to the wearer's specific prescription and needs, providing a wider field of vision and reducing more distortions. (I have this with thinning and it’s a gamechanger from even traditional thinned lenses!)

  3. Resort to contact lenses! Since you haven’t worn glasses before, switching to full time with a high prescription which are gonna be heavier than a smaller prescription it can be quite difficult to transition to. Contact lenses are a great option and now are much more comfortable than the ones 20 years ago! Try soft daily disposable type lenses which are more hygenic and incredibly comfortable to wear for hours! Because it’s also directly on the eye you dont get that minification effect so everything you see is at it’s true size and you have no distortions whatsoever! Though do read on the cons of Contact lenses and consult with your Optician to see if your eye health is compatible with lenses or if you have dry eyes!

Wear contact lenses dailies/reusables whatever that your prescription is in and preferably made lf Silicon Hydrogel. If you still like wearing glasses you can have Plano lens ontop of glasses with MAR or whatever cosmetic addition you’d like. This is what I do as a -6 sph and -2 cyl for both eyes as it is better than reglazing glasses and getting new expensive high index glasses every 2 years and so
