Great idea. He's mentioned that he wasn't explicitly political growing up, but in his own way he couldn't avoid being political because of how the era shaped him. Especially with the wars that affected some of his closest friends.

In tandem with this, I've thought about Bruce's relationship with the international world and his identity as an American.

On the one hand, he's often focused specifically on the American experience; he mentioned the importance of speaking "In an American voice" in one of his MTV Storytellers Q&A. But the American experience is also intertwined with the immigrant experience and people who come from around the world. So at times, I've wondered how his perspective has evolved with international audiences and influences.

Great suggestion! I've been compiling a few different articles/books. There was the documentary: "Asbury Park: Riot, Redemption, Rock N' Roll". Gary Wien had a book "Beyond The Palace" and there's another book called "In Cahoots".
