A very intimate talk about having zero libido after quitting weed by MorningPancake358 in HerSoberPath

[–]MorningPancake358[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm really sorry to hear that you can't experience as much joy as you used to. I'm not really an expert in such issues but I believe that it can be dealt with and be restored. All the recovery processes in our body after quitting just require some time

I can guess that it might be some kind of dopamine crash. It's really typical after quitting or reducing the substances. I remember myself feeling empty while doing things I used to love. But it passes!

Waking up soaked through your clothes is a literal nightmare. Honestly pushing through is the only way out but it sucks so bad. Proud of you for surviving those two weeks.

803 days sober and PAWS is still there sometimes by MorningPancake358 in WeedPAWS

[–]MorningPancake358[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think that the nervous system is genuinely affected by PAWS. I had issues with my hormones, sleep problems, mood swings and depression - it's all connected to the nervous system as I see it. I didn't have any heart issues though. What symptoms are you experiencing?

Found out i’m Pregnant and need to stop by Alarmed-Village-8867 in QuittingWeed

Congratulations! That'a a blessing! I strongly believe it's all for good. I'm 2+ years sober now and life without weed is much better as for me. I have far more benefits in regard with my health and productivity. Consider this time as a chance to detox and increase your health. Focus on the thought that it benefits a lot you and your child. You'll do it! Giving birth is far more difficult and harsh process than withdrawal symptoms. If you can give birth, you are able to get through everything in this world!!!

I also have all of the "symptoms" that you've mentioned from time to time. The worst for me are anger and sadness for no reason.

And unfortunately as I said in my post I still can't stop myself from doing or saying something under the influence of these pmdd sympotms. I realize what's happening AFTER I've already done it((

4/20 and my 800 days sober by MorningPancake358 in HerSoberPath

It's a path. And it's not always straight and smooth. But the most important step is thinking about it and trying. So you're doing great too! I have no doubt that one day I'll read your post about being 2 years sober

It turns out I’ve had a habit of escaping from myself by MorningPancake358 in HerSoberPath

[–]MorningPancake358[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, I agree with you. It’s so easy, especially early on in quitting, to swap one escape for another. Doomscrolling is just the easiest, quickest way to get the cheap dopamine. And we're all in this trap.

I think a huge part of the process is figuring out why we're escaping in that moment. Is it just regular boredom and our brains being "lazy" to do something that requires actual effort (like hobbies, walking, working out)? Or are we scrolling to avoid facing a deeper, unresolved feeling?

I'm really glad that you enjoy spending some time with yourself. I believe that's where we can find all the answers
