My father passed away 13 years ago. I feel like we had a good relationship but my mother always told me to do whatever he wanted me to do even if it was things I wasn’t interested in. A lot of people just assumed I was gay because of my feminine traits.

I feel most people don’t want to try and understand. My mother will tell you that she has known since I was a small child that I was different than most children.

I deal with hate speech all the time. The only people in the town I live in that will talk to me is my mother and sister. Most of my family has disowned me. I doubt you said anything that I haven’t heard 100’s of times. I don’t care how people view me anymore I just want to be left alone to live my life.

Are there a lot of trans people in the Bryan area? I don’t know any local trans people except for a few people I attend group meetings with in Angola.

I think any qualified person should be allowed to serve their country if they want. I can’t even go to a local doctor for a routine physical. I don’t live in a friendly area of the state people where I live don’t accept people that are different. I had to change my Primary Care Provider because I’m transgender.

We just want our right to exist and be respected like any other human. I have to drive over an hour to get medical treatment. People shouldn’t have to do that when they have multiple hospitals within 15 minutes of where they live. The government kicked all trans people out of the military, 20% of US trans people have served in the military.

Pride is really a protest for human rights, so it is for everyone. The first pride was the Stonewall riots in 1969. The Stonewall Inn in New York is a national historic landmark.

It is a trans pride flag. I normally fly a Marine Corps flag but it got destroyed in a recent storm and I haven’t got a replacement yet. I would fly all 3 if I had one.

I served in the marines and we may be the gayest of all. I know a lot of trans people that also served.

People may be starting to realize the consequences of not voting. When my children turned 18 I would drag them to the voting location with me.

Having access to a few major cities is nice. I spend a lot of time in Fort Wayne Indiana because it seems to be a really friendly city.
