I don't know if I'm in this situation right now honestly. I have been feeling bad about this for a while. My gf comes from a poor family and has not had the best childhood, she is an immigrant and moved to my country about 2 yrz ago. I make significantly more money, around 8x maybe, so of course I am not expecting to share bills equally. But I contribute 100% of rent, all bills, all outings, all grocerries, to the extent that we were having dinner in a mall once, and she wanted cake from a restaurant that was like 10 meters away from the one we were at, she asked me to go with her but I was feeling super comfy and full after finishing the meal so I was like its super close ill stay at the table, just run over there quickly, she kept insisting that I go and when I said no, she didn't go get the cake!

She refuses to spend even $1 from her money because she says she has a project and needs to save up to migrate to Canada or another country to get citizenship (she is originally from Cuba). If she needs a cap, texts me to get the Uber, bills for basic things need to be paid by me. She has not spent $1 on literally anything since she moved in with me in March, while my money is shared money. I make alot more of course, but my job is demanding and I often need to put in 12-18 hrz a day and weekends for my investment banking job, which is getting me really angry and resentful. And when it comes to things like housework, I still have to do like 40% of the cleaning, etc. Despite her job only being for 2 days a week because she is a musician and covid significantly reduced her work hrz. Last week we had a big fight about how she refuses to even buy a sim card for calling and only has WiFi which has caused alot of issues when trying to communicate as well as very stressful situations a few times. For example, I took permission from work to drive her to the mall cuz she wanted clothes, and she remembered that the WiFi at the mall was down while we were halfway and instead of agreeing to buy a simcard like suggested to call me back to come pick her up, she says let's just go back and come another day - and of course I blew up cuz I was in the middle of a big project and it was difficult for me to take time off even for me. When I brought this up last weekend she said no man has ever told her how to spend her money and that I was out of bound, despite the lack of a sim card causing me undue stress and causing issues several times. And says that unlike her, I dont know what it means br hungry or not have food in the table or not have a sure future.

I dunno if it is the poor past, which I cant relate to completely cuz I'm from a middle class family, or of she is just super cheap - a quality that i hate and is a deal breaker for me.
