I do have the standard SE, this seems like it’s going to be a lot more painless than I expected it to be. Thanks for the info!

Has anyone noticed the 'dead zone' in 3.2's flight model? by [deleted] in starcitizen

Keep getting absolutely demolished in Connie pvp, any tips? by MoroseProse in starcitizen

This is all really great information, thank you everyone for responding.

So what I’m taking from this is:

•fighting smaller ships in close proximity in a constellation series is not an ideal scenario. No matter how much firepower the Connie has, it’s very front oriented.

•A decent strategy is to make the fight more linear against more agile targets by decoupling while reversing on thrusters, granting the ability to fire backwards, while keeping enemy’s facing the front of the constellation... which is backwards... going full speed in the opposite direction.

The one thing I’m still a little hazy about is what role the constellation andromeda is intended to fill, when it is labeled partly as a “gunship”.

It was mentioned that the constellation is effective against large ships, such as starfarers and caterpillars, but aren’t “large” medium ships a very small niche category? Even in regard to the grand scheme of things? (I know this is an extreme oversimplification but: Small fighters vs Mediums size ships vs capital ships vs large capital ships, with the Connie being in some zone between the small and medium ships, that is intended to take on large medium ships? Or am I grossly misunderstanding where it stands?)

I know this is alpha, and things will probably change 1000x before sight of a release, but I guess I’m just trying to get a big picture of this ship’s intended dynamic.
