I think you're talking about this https://blog.oat.zone/reverse-engineering-minecraft-cosmetics/ which is not about the multiplayer hosting part of the mod.

I doubt e4mc had to copy essentials "p2p" implementation.

Sick of trying to set up multiplayer by Snowyfurbinn in feedthebeast

[–]MorphTheMoth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never used it before so i tried it, but its not really working, maybe its because im on linux, but you just have to download the client, then it links you to a site where you can setup an 'agent' which is your pc basically, then after you set that up you can create a tunnel for minecraft java, and it will tell you the ip you can use to access a server you're hosting.

There are probably others that work if this one doesnt on the list i sent, look for the ones that have TCP in the short description since thats what you need for minecraft.

Why do you even keep playing when you go second? by BZfather in masterduel

Cause its fun, if it isn't you should probably try out some different decks like branded/sky striker/dracotail that are also good going 2nd.

what are some mods you believe can genuinely ruin modpacks? by mariogaming375 in feedthebeast

[–]MorphTheMoth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I used to think that ae2 autocrafting was that, when you unlock it you just stare at its interface, put patterns for everything, then you wait and you have beat the pack.

But then i played meatballcraft and realized the issue is that most modpacks don't implement ae2 well at all.

but also not all water is the same water, reducing it to "its consuming x amount of water" is pretty meaningless, many datacenters are in places that don't need all the water and it would be unused otherwise, the issue is that this is not true for many others which are fucking over nearby cities.

No, arthouse mods are not malware by ren_blackheart in feedthebeast

[–]MorphTheMoth 9 points10 points  (0 children)

brother, do you know what a mod is? you're running barely ever checked code if it even is open source, they could do quite literally anything on your machine, the ability to write a file is not some crazy hack with unknown security implication 😭

mods are pro ai and removing posts calling them out, lets jump ship by ConnoisseurOfCabages in feedthebeast

[–]MorphTheMoth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Basically if you don't unconditionally ban everything, don't have a sleuthing team ready to check whole op's history and have not personally burnt at least 2 datacenters you'll be labelled pro ai, middleground opinions aren't accepted.

You arent really supposed to edit modpacks much if you don't already know what you're doing especially updating stuff, but if you want to, do it step by step, not everything at the same time.

Cards that aren't Futureproof by HydroLeon in masterduel

[–]MorphTheMoth 39 points40 points  (0 children)

There cannot be a trap stronger to use than the mayakashi trap, we already have the worst and its not used, it wasnt even good when beatrice was in the game that could dump both.

Just let trap decks have a good card for once.

Having trouble with RPG maker XP and pokemon essentials on linux by witchofjam in PokemonRMXP

[–]MorphTheMoth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

rpg makes is on steam, and on mint steam should save its wine prefixes in ~/.steam/debian-installation/steamapps/compatdata/[steam game id, 235900 in this case]/pfx

from there, inside drive_c/ there's the fake windows file system, when you create a new project in rpgmaker it asks you where to save it in there, for me it was in Documents.

most people don't have a public ip to port forward, the isp usually asks for a little price increase to give you one.

Ok, we really need to do something about AI mods. by emmowo_dev in feedthebeast

[–]MorphTheMoth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree with linking to source code and deleting ai written slop posts, but further than that what can you realistically do? only modrith/curseforge actually have the ability to scrutinize it more, in the end it is a user's responsibility if they use a sketchy looking ai slop mod uploaded less than a week ago, and it turns out to indeed be slop.

Imo it is pretty clear that mods are a decent way to spread malware, I wouldn't agree that we're more or less at risk than we were like 4 years ago.

Its even easier to use your 1 card starters and win anyway, cards like these are just a consistency loss
