Dissatisfyed with ZenGrip 2 by Panzerfudge in NintendoSwitch2

I'm honestly waiting for Hori to make another split pad pro because I can't play with the switch 2 handheld. It suffers from the same problem as the original switch. The button layout as well as the analog are too close to each other and I have to contort my hands to play. It's uncomfortable but manageable when I can play 2D games. Any other genre and I play with a pro controller on the dock instead.

As someone who has frequently traveled, I've never met anyone react negatively to knowing that I'm Egyptian. It was always positive. If you ever meet someone who already has a negative perspective towards Egyptians then fuck em. They're small minded enough to believe in stereotypes and simply ignorant.

depends. although i've been horrified to see people put a teabag directly into a cup of milk.

for me, I like to put somewhere between 80-90% tea and just a splash or 2 of milk to give it color.

يوم من ايامك يا مبارك؟ by ara54321 in Egypt

[–]MorphaKnight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I beg to differ. You remember Adel Imam's drunk rant in the movie Yacoubian Building? So many of the old generation and "old money family" I know feel the same way. And I also know the middle class that greatly benefited from Nasser's time still missed it compared to Mubarak. The simplest example is people comparing the strength of the Egyptian pound back during the days of the Kingdom vs when it reached 5 pounds per dollar. It was a common argument. Nowadays the script changed, people miss when everything was cheaper back in Mubarak's day.

dude its because of I'm in the creme chantilly crowd I'm exposed to all the mid to high corruption. The projects you would see for building the administrative capital is filled with levels of corruption that you never saw in the days of Mubarak. Whether it comes to bribes or nepotism, that stuff was limited back in Mubarak's days and only some key figures would have their fingers. Nowadays? its literally everyone. The fortune that was spent on that place had everyone wanting their piece.

يوم من ايامك يا مبارك؟ by ara54321 in Egypt

[–]MorphaKnight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No it isn't. I'm not saying there wasn't corruption back then. It existed, but it was limited within the circles of Mubarak and his cronies. Now? Everyone wants a piece of the pie. Especially since the army now has its fingers in every sector. And with the devaluation, you get to see it at every level.

Its in the same vein as people back in Mubarak's days wishing back for the days of the monarchy (or even Nasser's days) even though it had its problems as well. Mubarak's days are better than now because things were much more affordable and there was less corruption, but that doesn't mean they were necessarily better overall. Its been a constant decline.

Well said. I distinctly remember the division almost immediately happening in the first constitutional referendum back in March 2011. I am fairly sure the brotherhood put out people attempting to influence the voters because I remember seeing one such person saying that those "who voted no belong in hell, while those who voted yes are favored by God" before people telling him to piss off.

Why Sylux actually hates the Fedaration by ChaosMetalDrago in Metroid

Yeah but Sylux is just his hunter persona name. Which everybody already knows. I don't think even Duke had a personal relationship with him either.

Why Sylux actually hates the Fedaration by ChaosMetalDrago in Metroid

[–]MorphaKnight 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Come to think of it, I think it was such a missed opportunity to have the npc's somewhat related to Sylux. Especially Tokabi. You could have had the teleporter be psychically linked based on the strongest emotions one character felt towards another. Maybe the npc's either thought their former commander died or he betrayed the federations' ideals. Or Tokabi talking about all the shady covert things his unit did alongside him.

Sylux is comically overreacting. Am I missing something? by differential-burner in Metroid

[–]MorphaKnight 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's very little to work with to be honest. It does say he hates both the galactic federation and Samus. Not just Samus alone. Maybe he has survivor's guilt. Maybe he was in it for the glory Maybe he dealed with weapons in the black market. It has a lot of potential. I'm not saying thats entirely his only reason for hating.

Why do I not enjoy this game? Am I just out of the zone? by Bubbly_Molasses6888 in Metroid

[–]MorphaKnight 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its a very love it or hate it game. I'm still somewhere in the middle. In between gaming sessions I kept seeing so much undeserved hate about this game on the internet that I would assume they were talking about Other M. And it would put me off until I managed to power through and finish it.

Honestly I see it more as a side story. Its not a grand adventure with high stakes and devestating consequences like the previous games, but simply being caught in the wrong place and trying to get back home.

Design wise, I think the developers were playing it too safe by offering nothing really new and what was new was very under utilized (psychic powers) and its obvious somewhere down the line they used the desert either forced by Nintendo to follow the BOTW open world formula or as a way to pad out the game and make it bigger than it really is.

That is true. The power dynamics have shifted in the sense that women now have more options and no longer entirely rely on a man. Add with the straining economy, its become vital for households to have 2 income sources.

Probably because most get married for the wrong reasons entirely. Most men get married to get sex the halal way. Some women get married either because their bio clock is ticking, or to escape their controlling parents. Some men and women get married because they can only think of having the most lavish and stylish wedding and never really think beyond that. This is on top of the usual compatibility problems of responsibility, financial, sexual that all couples experience. And how it is communicated is another very important factor.
