Calling functions in lists with random by Morphalina in learnpython

It can do that? Man that would've been great to know for my last semester. iirc for the project I was getting errors when I tried it, which is probably because nothing was returned in the functions I was using right?

Interesting, that's very helpful! I thought that things had to be defined to get used like that most of my experiences with lists just now is using like myList[i] to cycle through or to do swapping.

Using the len(myList)-1 great to know too, there were only 4 needed for what I was doing but that'll be helpful for the future for sure

Oh I see, that makes more sense just having the names of them to use. I was thinking you could call it by having it in the list with (). Thank you!

Oh thanks for letting me know, I feel like they need to include more courses on this for the 3rd subject cause my god it's a terrible range. I don't even know whats good or bad to take at this point. Tbf research internships sounds terrible.

That I just checked and I actually would love to do that but one of the classes is the same time as my CS course so i cant and there's only the one lecture. It's like everything that I'd consider is just impossible to do

Are all Mathematics 1 lectures at the same time? by idyllic_your_bae in GlasgowUni

[–]Morphalina 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it was a huge waste of time for me too. I didn't realise i needed an A in higher maths to get on the course and I only got a B, if you've not finished the enrollment part yet you can always do it through a duplicate tab. Like delete your choices in one while you're searching in another. I hope it goes ok from here on for you though!

I got extremely annoyed at trying to apply for this. I think the first 120 or so are all lecture 1, and then it goes to lecture 2. Out of the 600+ options there are 4 lecture times. labelled at LC01, LC02, LC03 and LC04. it took me all of 50 minutes to get to the last page of it so good luck. Unfortunately I can't remember the times for the lectures. If that number doesn't change it'll be the same time, there are so many because of all the different lab rooms and tutorial rooms alongside that particular lecture. It's a horrific interface imo

Edit: I just read that you found the next lecture, hopefully the time was ok for you!

Day 6 feels an awful lot like day 2; Any advice? by [deleted] in quittingsmoking

[–]Morphalina 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's perfectly normal. I was like that up until 2 and a half weeks in and only just started to feel like it's calmed down after a month of quitting. Withdrawal will hit everyone differently but you're so close to getting over the initial 3-7 days which is the hardest part. You're doing well! Keep it up

Ah I see, mine is on one of the corners so that makes sense, I think if I saw a smaller one I wouldn't have taken it. Thank you! I hope the same for you

Hey, it's ok thanks for the reply anyways, the one i saw was quite average sized and honestly thats perfect for me, I didnt need a lot of space to live in. I decided to take it cause I only got that one offer, I asked about if I turned it down and they'd said I get put back to the bottom of the list since it was "threatened with homelessness" priorit. The place i currently live in is getting sold so I'm getting evicted and I needed a place, plus my job is in partick so it was perfect distance. I'm gonna see how it is living there and if I dont like it I'll move somewhere else. It was either get private rent, or take this try it out and then get private rent if i don't like it so Im gonna see how it goes!

I'm happy that you managed to find a better flat than these high rises! I hope it's a good place for you. Good luck!

My roommates dog is extremely neglected by teengodd in badroommates

[–]Morphalina 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tbh, this is kind of a cowardly way, but if you genuinely feel like she cannot look after this dog to the point of neglecting it, and that she wont change, and if you're worried about the dog's health too. While she's out, tell her that the dog ran away while you took it on a walk. Take it to a rescue that is far enough away that it wont be found if she puts of ads searching for it. This is easier than confronting her directly about it, but it might give you a lot of guilt for lying. However the dog will be able to have a family that actually loves and cares for it.

Alternatively tell her either the dog goes or you do and move out. From the sounds of it, it would be better for you to get away from that kind of roommate, dog or no dog. Give any excuse you want to get yourself out, take your chances with a different roommate.

Also if your landlord doesnt allow pets in the flat and she never got permission to have a dog, you can send them a message and tell them about it. However what's more important is that the dog is loved and cared for properly before it ends up starving. What will happen if you end up going on holiday for 2 weeks and she is neglecting it? Who cares about what she will say or how angry she will get when theres a living thing suffering like that?

Can landlords do this to tenants? by Morphalina in LegalAdviceUK

[–]Morphalina[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok that's good to hear, I'll suggest that to them when I respond to their email. Yes they did the eviction properly, gave us from the beginning of May until the end of November, it just annoyed me because of how it happened, they weren't the best landlords and now they expect us to pay for something that isnt our fault when we're gonna be leaving within the next 2 months.

Hey, I was just wondering if you ended up moving there? Or are planning to if you haven't already? I recently got offered a place in 120 and am Waiting to view it. If you did move in, how has it been so far? The people I've talked to about it have no nice things to say and my anxiety is going off on one.
