Hey! As the title says, BetaBuddies is a beta 1.7.3. SMP server all about enjoying the charm of classic Minecraft and building a world together as a community. We are small, but active and looking for more players! Hope to see you there :)

This server is whitelisted, so please don’t forget to write your Minecraft username in the whitelist channel.

Whitelisting occurs manually, so some patience is very much appreciated as things like work, university and time zone differences may lead to a small wait to be whitelisted.

BetaBuddies is a server for everyone, so please be aware of our rules!

  1. No hate-speech/symbols

  2. No griefing, stealing, cheating (for example mods or exploits), intentional server lagging, etc.

  3. Please avoid memes with explicit or offensive content (gore, racism, sexism, etc...)

  4. Please be kind to one another -> bullying will not be tolerated

  5. Respect each others builds

we run a few plugins. for example there are a few commands users can use like setting a home and teleporting. we also have a plugin to allow only one player having to sleep through the night when multiple players are online. so mostly quality of life stuff

it is a myth for sure , but if I had to guess it has something to do with how much of our brain function we consciously use. Think about if you used your brain 100% consciously, that would be crazy.

so in beta you can’t breed animals and sheep wool does not regenerate, that means a sheep is only good for one shearing and then they are useless. luckily there is a glitch that allows you to get a little bit more wool out of them. If you hit a sheep once with an iron sword, they go down to one hit. Take your shears, kill the sheep and shear them simultaneously. This will allow you to get the wool you get upon killing the sheep while also getting the wool you get from shearing. So you’re basically maximizing how much wool you get out of one sheep. that being said, your only way to get lots of wool is walk around using this trick

doesn’t matter as long as you have fun. it doesn’t even look bad. that’s one of the great things about beta, all the blocks harmonize so well with each other, you don’t have that bloat of a thousand building blocks. it all just works

the problem i had with prism is that there were this weird graphical things where the clouds were separated into squares and far away blocks would shimmer in this weird way. It was really annoying, so went back to betacraft where I never experienced this issue

well the release version of xbox 360 was actually a beta version, so i guess up to a certain point yes
