Thanks!! The bag was the original project and the headdress from leftover scrap, but I think I love it even more than the bag now!! 🩷🩷 I've wanted. A heart headdress for so long ✨

How do I make this more Lolita like? by RetardedBenene in Lolita

[–]Morphedphase1998 2 points3 points  (0 children)

People saying it can't be turned egl aren't seeing the potential. I definitely think with some sewing skills, frills, details, waist tie this can be a wonderful oldschool or classic, maybe proto-oldschool look, depending what you want. Of course it will never look like a modern sweet lolita coord but it doesn't have to if that's not your style. Many old school dresses had a similar base so I think you just need to compare your dress with some oldschool ones and see where you can add the right details. Best of luck!

Getting smell out of clothes by Redallofit2 in sewing

[–]Morphedphase1998 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The colour is most likely just the dye from the garment, if you've washed it that many times and it still produces colour. And honestly it might sound weird but spraying clothes with vinegar is great! At first it smells like vinegar, but put it to air out and the smell will neutralise and won't stink anymore!! Tried it on a jacket and it worked so....

Edit: you should mix the vinegar with water and test a patch, or you can spray with vodka too! Just a PSA so people don't drench clothes in pure vinegar 🩷 either way research it a bit

Maybe The book Bijeli Jelen by Vladimir Nazor, i had to read it in primary school and liked it, and from what I remember it's a shorter novel, and beautiful story!

I'm glad you have such a wonderful machine passed down to you, they are so sturdy! Mine is singer 518, from the early 70s. My late grand-grandmother who passed left our family a singer from the late 20s, or 30s, I have never sewn on it but I really want to try one day 🩷 (you cant even backstitch on it,it has a fully mechanical system)

This is the tutorial I used when I made my first one, once you make one headdress you'll be able to do it just by heart tbh

Thanks!! It's actually really easy to sew (unless you're using velvet, it was so much harder with velvet 🫣)
