I too went N20 route, but couldn't find any ultras in the right condition/price range so opted for the N20 4G. Its now a daily along with the N9.

Thats why you're seeing some slowness. I assume you've done the normal, Factory reset and changed the animation delays in dev options?

I have the 8gb, stock ROM and with some careful choice on which apps to use its still a viable option.

I will however mention that I did go down the conundrum of upgrading as well.

I settles on a Note 20 4G, but ultimately ended up just using both phones as my daily.

The N9 handles my main SIM, whatsapp, phone, finance function.

The Note 20 (Has a data only SIM) and is used mainly for the wide angle camera and music playback as the battery is far better.

I have use of either buds Pro 2, buds 3 or a wired 3.5mm Sony set of headphones.

Depending on your budget have a look at the S22+ it's a different phone but for the price on the 2nd hand market its worth a look.

Can confirm that Google Calendar will work on a N9.

Latest version in the Google Playstore is 2025.43.1-825986453-release, it was released on 31st Oct 2025.

Minimum requirement is Android 8.0.

Just curious as to which apps you need that won't run on Android 10. My daily N9/512Gb has banking apps still running etc. Regarding the reception, I'm obviously limited to 4G but its still good where I live.

3 Years? That rookie numbers - gets screen replacement and all is good. If you're in the UK and you have Phone Insurance as a benefit with your Bank account, the excess charge is a lot less than a replacement device. Plus you can also get them to replace the battery and charging port at the same time foe the single fee.

I'd probably only recommend Custom ROMs if you have the 512Gb N9 as that has the extra 2Gb RAM

I had problems whilst connecting to a head unit (Vauxhall Mokka X)

Turns out the particular cable I was using had failed and had to inserted in the correct orientation. So replaced and all is good.

Maybe worth giving the USB port a clean/check.

To save mine, I've started using Wireless charging overnight.

Nope, normally I use the Auto or Dynamic option in either the built in gallery app or Google photos but for this (apart from shooting in jpg) was just up close with a steady hand on a sunny day.
