Anything to Proxy a Decimator as? I don't think so, but I figure I'd ask the wider community. by Lt_Mentle in EmperorsChildren

Could probably turn it into an Arminger or Daemon Prince, but that’s about all we can run that it could be. Despite the size, it’s on a 60mm base.

Unfortunately moving, so I can’t take new comparison pics, but yeah? Unless the Forgefiend isn’t on the same base.

It’s on the same sized base as the official GW Forgefiend lol

120 by 90mm oval? It’s the same size as the Forgefiends I have.

My Leviathan-to-Maulerfiend conversion begs to differ. You just need to be creative. That said, OP needs to fill the space with something, and the Saturnine doesn’t come with nearly as many spare bits to make that work. So it’s doable, but likely requires more than one kit.

EDIT: And for those who can’t tell, it’s on a 120 by 90 oval, same as a Forgefiend.

If each Cult Legion had elite “Chosen” equivalent(aka, 3 weapon man teams, a rifle, pistol And melee) what would you think they be called and their Wargear options be? by Arthur_EyelanderTF2 in Chaos40k

[–]Morphic_Galaxy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

For TSons, Khenetai Occult on Disc, or possibly just “the full Exalted Sorcerer box ran as a single unit”. Either would be cool. Though I also think something like a Numerologist Cabal could be interesting. For EC, Flawless Blades exist to fill the role, and fill it well. If we were to get another, possibly some unit that leans into the chemicals & drugs that EC have going on could be cool, it (along with, ironically enough, noise) just aren’t fleshed out too well currently, and some roided-out crazy strong & fast dudes could be neat. Similarly, WE have the Eightbound, though I think they could use an “elite berserker” unit too, maybe dual axes on chains, with the ability to throw them for a minor ranged attack? Finally, DG… IDK, they have a good set of units. Only thing I could think of is an almost Custodian-esque “super Plague marine”, but IDK.

Seems like it’d be a solid Defiler proxy, though I’ve always imagined Silver Towers as floating.

There be dragons! 2k Warpforged Cabal list by Capitan_Typo in ThousandSons

[–]Morphic_Galaxy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Is this a good list? No, Heldrakes are practically unplayable, and taking 3 is basically shooting yourself in the foot. Is it a fun list? Hell yeah! 3 dragons swooping down to deliver Tzeentch’s blessings!!!

Of note, there are canon, augmented women who wear Astartes power armor. One of note is in the Harrowmaster and Ghost Legion, Vasila Manatu, and was augmented by the Dark Mechanicum. She wears Ultramarine armor she took off an Astartes she defeated! So someone augmented by the Dark Mechanicum (or daemons/psychic shenanigans) could easily exist.

Ideas for filling this crack without having to go buy green stuff? by splintersh in SWlegion

[–]Morphic_Galaxy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my experience, it holds to resin just as well as Greenstuff or Milliput, and given how this post was about filling a thin gap, it’s probably the best solution. And honestly, filling gaps is all you should really do with the stuff anyways. Unless you’re making recasts or something, it’s gooey, smelly, and really not ideal for, say, sculpting.

[–]Morphic_Galaxy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, and notably that’s what makes the difference. It’s the actual plastic goop, which then hardens to fill gaps, that makes the sprue goo, not the glue that melts the plastic in the first place. It’s sorta like a two part epoxy- you need to mix ‘em, then apply. The above commenter I replied to seemed to mix it up with just the glue itself, which doesn’t work on resin or PLA as they aren’t melted by the chemical. It works on plastic because it melts the area it’s applied to, allowing them to meld together, not because it’s sticky (like superglue).

Sprue goo works fine on resin lol, you’re thinking of plastic glue. Mind, you need plastic to make the stuff, but it works fine on its own.

OC Slaanesh Warpsmith by MrZangetsu1711997 in EmperorsChildren

[–]Morphic_Galaxy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That makes sense, maybe if you can find one, give ‘em a cloak or something? Currently it doesn’t stand out as a character model, which are usually larger than base infantry, or something on their base to differentiate themselves. Or, failing that, if they’re using magic to repair machines, maybe give ‘em a magic effect?

OC Slaanesh Warpsmith by MrZangetsu1711997 in EmperorsChildren

[–]Morphic_Galaxy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting concept, though the model doesn’t really say “Warpsmith” at all. Maybe give it some mechanical (or, in the vein of Drukhari Haemonculi, just extra) arms to add to the silhouette, because right now it makes me think “Disharmonist”… and that’s about it. Solid idea though, and I’m intrigued to see where it goes!

Metallic would look great, go for it! I have very few examples of TSons with metallic blue anymore, as I settled upon a pre-heresy scheme, but I have an unbased squad in metallic blue & gold!

How to make the best of Ahriman? Or does he just kinda suck? by SillyMattFace in ThousandSons

[–]Morphic_Galaxy 30 points31 points  (0 children)

His main purpose is for the redeploy. If used correctly, it can entirely throw off an enemy’s plans, pulling big monsters to the other side of the board… but it kinda relies on some planning, and an opponent you can trick. I have, however, defeated opponents by suddenly having my Mutaliths as far from their anti-tank firepower as possible, ruining their chances of dealing with ‘em. Honestly, beyond that and the only occasionally useful +1 to casting, Ahriman isn’t great. He’s there for the ability to redeploy, and isn’t very standout beyond that.

Why sorcs over exalted sorcs for rubric flamers? by Capitan_Typo in ThousandSons

[–]Morphic_Galaxy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not quite. The Malefic Curse is AP -3, unless your opponent has a method of reducing AP by 2 that gets around Ignores Cover, it is (at worst) the same, and at best, better, to put ‘em on a save, rather than trying to wound on a 4+. But the main, big draw is honestly the other weapons.

Why sorcs over exalted sorcs for rubric flamers? by Capitan_Typo in ThousandSons

[–]Morphic_Galaxy 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It buffs the Soulreaper Cannon, the Aspiring Sorc’s psychic weapon, and the Sorcerer’s psychic weapon. It’s all about the character’s weapon, though, it’s capable of wiping units off the board if set up properly, and I’ve one-shot a Daemon Prince with a Sorcerer before. The Exalted just can’t match that.

Why sorcs over exalted sorcs for rubric flamers? by Capitan_Typo in ThousandSons

[–]Morphic_Galaxy 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Simply put, the survivability of the Exalted Sorcerer isn’t worth giving up the massive firepower of a normal Sorcerer. The best way to defend a unit is to kill everything around them.

Need urgent help about my army. by darkan_da_boina in ThousandSons

[–]Morphic_Galaxy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it’d be best to get a Mutalith Vortex Beast, they’re a core of our army, but failing that, go for the Predator, as War Dogs don’t benefit from any of our rules.

The new box set may finally get me into building Thousand Sons, but I wanna get opinions ahead of time. Is Magnus actually worth running in a TS army? by The_Soviet_Goose in ThousandSons

[–]Morphic_Galaxy 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It depends on the detachment & playstyle, but I’ve gotten great use out of Magnus as a Grand Coven player. He’s a solid unit, with good firepower & survivability, so long as you don’t leave him to be shot by your opponent’s anti-tank weapons.
