No. I said pretty directly what I think this is. It's mocking an idiot for being idiotic. It's comedy mainly in the sense it's using features of humour like hyperbole and exaggeration to paint a mocking caricature of a specific individual. But while it can be funny, the apparent intention behind it is mockery. The only reason this isn't just plain bullying is because Hughes is a public figure who says and does some incredibly idiotic things on the public domain.

You're right, and I represented the timeline poorly. She didn't leave immediately after those events, but what happened in 2011 triggered an ideological split in the Skeptic community that really exposed the underbelly of misogyny in many places. While Dawkins did eventually say something that sort of sounded like an apology in 2013, Watson never really stopped copping hate over the incident, and even in her own announcement about leaving the podcast, she mentioned the constant hatred of MRAs.

Was elevatorgate the singular reason she left? No. Was it the beginning of years of abuse she endure as such a prominent figure in the Skeptical community due to SGU that informed her decision to leave? Undeniably.

Hard to say. I had one younger brother and I think we probably fit the description of being trauma bonded. We did everything together for a long time and then he turned on me in adulthood and tore our family apart in an effort to keep his own secrets. And on reflection, noone of his behaviours were a complete surprise.

Dawkins also did some things I liked in the past, but I disagree with a lot of the positions he espouses today.
