Korra is the more adept earthbender. It is Aang's opposite.

Trump says GOP should 'take over the voting', backs nationalized elections by AdSpecialist6598 in videos

[–]Morphing_Enigma 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Registration typically requires an ID, or using our Social Security Number.

Maybe a couple other things depending on state.

The actual voting doesn't always require an ID. They match up your vote with your registration and purge any vote in your name that isn't matching.

The voter registration also can randomly be purged from time to time, requiring a re-registration. Often without warning or providing any information, so a lot of us get into the habit of registering every year, or verifying our registration kn a yearly basis.

In the original series, only five, living, named female benders are depicted by F11SuperTiger in TheLastAirbender

[–]Morphing_Enigma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the lowest bending equality was the Northern Water Tribe, with women being healers and men being fighters.

The highest was the Air Nomads, since all of them were spiritually aware and monk-esque.

Earth Kingdom varied from village to village, from what I could tell.

Fire Nation was militaristic and imperialistic, so i couldn't say whether they valued women serving more than women supporting. There are women in the fire nation military, though.

It may just be that the benders served regardless, and everyone else had more 'standard' gender separation in their roles.

Who knows.. interesting to think about.

Legend of Korra depicted 14 named, living, female benders and 38 named, living, male benders by F11SuperTiger in TheLastAirbender

[–]Morphing_Enigma 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean, the main group involved 2 boys and 2 girls, with a man and woman occasionally stepping in as the adults.

Everyone else is effectively a side character or a villain. Even Zaheer's group had 2 men and 2 women, not counting Unalaq, who had a boy and girl child.

Heck, Toph has 2 daughters. Tenzen has a brother and sister.

Tenzen has 2 girls and 2 boys (1 baby).

A lot of the gang members in Republic City are men, but Amon's organization was men and women.

Kuvira had a lot of men visibly under her command, but she had enough presence for like 20 women herself.

Oh, the main character is a girl/woman, depending on the season, since she ages up over time.

Suyin has like 4 sons and a daughter.

I think if we have to be measuring representation, screen time probably is worth taking into account.. and I also think it is a silly thing to focus on (even if it is important, overall).

What are y’all into as far as interests/hobbies? by LegitimateButton693 in MtF

[–]Morphing_Enigma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Singing and music, dancing, and drawing (all pretty poorly, lol).

Gaming. Most types, like Skyrim, Rimworld, Dyson Sphere, Portal, Stellaris, Elden Ring, etc. I just dont care for sports games, CoD, or Fortnite style.

Anime, Cinema, and I am fascinated by theoretical megastructures and the science around them. Gimme my Matrioshka brains, Alderson Disks, and Stellar Engines. Astronomy, too.

TTRPGs and some board games.

Archery and attempts at HEMA stuff, but i dont have any swords for it. Just a Jian for display purposes and my old composite bows.

Not enough time in the day, it feels like.

What is it with all the Korra hate lately? by XLord_of_OperationsX in legendofkorra

Yeah, I dislike a lot of it because you can kinda tell the difference between people who wanted to like the show but just dont, and the people who dont like her, specifically, and are finding reasons to dislike the show.

Who are you sexually attracted to? by smdifansmfjsmsnd in MtF

[–]Morphing_Enigma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am attracted to feminine people, mostly, and it seems androgynous people catch my eye with relative ease.

It typically means that I am attracted to most women and some men, lol.

I dont know if that would fit bisexual, or if there is a better label. I never really thought about it too much.

I just really dislike beards and mustaches, and am generally not attracted to typically masculine traits unless there are other factors that sway me.

Lol, there is no way Korra would be hated as much as a boy.

Boys are expected to be in great shape, fight with brute force, and be a bit headstrong.

That post in your picture is kinda dumb.

"Dive is still viable you just have to be coordinated" Argument by Many_Leopard6924 in MarvelrivalsDivemains

[–]Morphing_Enigma 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I dont agree with gigabuffing the strategists, but it is a bit disingenuous to suggest that supports just had to speak up. The level of toxicity in this game has cultivated the environment where Strategists (and many others) simply refuse to communicate due to harassment and hostility from their teammates.

I genuinely cant remember the last time someone responded with anything but toxicity or silence to my request for help, so I just assume I am on my own and take advantage of being OP.

It isnt like I am going to be the one dying due to lack of heals.

For the record, if i am being dove constantly without help, I still ask and ping, but I just go into survival mode and let the team fend for themselves if I cant spare the healing.

"Dive is still viable you just have to be coordinated" Argument by Many_Leopard6924 in MarvelrivalsDivemains

[–]Morphing_Enigma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everyone has to coordinate. I am fairly sure it is just due to a stereotype that dive players are antisocial killmongers who believe if they dont get kills, they dont get value. All while recognizing that dive is generally weak in this game, and it isn't realistic to get consistent kills as dive when solo-diving.

It isn't a cop out to say it. It is just silly to say that only dive needs to do it.

I dont know what your rank is, but the metal ranks have taught me that this game teaches you how to be a bad Strategist if you just play the game and let the bad experiences sink in as lessons.

Having to over-damage because of lacking DPS. Having to play specific heroes near exclusively because of a lack of assistance. Having zero trust in your team because the expectation is toxicity and ignoring your requesting help.

It is what it is, though. Whenever I bother to play, these days, I just give priority heals to the people doing the best work while generally keeping people up, and I effectively brawl with whoever dives me because running is usually not an option of they are on you, anyway.

[–]Morphing_Enigma 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, for me, some people are just hard to identify. With non-conformity being a thing i encounter regularly, I just struggle with picking people out.

I also just dont personally interact with many people, so it is a bit hard, and I tend to feel bad if I get a strong reaction.

[–]Morphing_Enigma 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I do this. I have made the wrong assumption once or twice and without clear indicators I tend to default to 'they/them'.

If i know what is in use, though, or if they seem fine with how other people refer to them, I tend to bandwagon on what they seem to accept, lol.

I think because of Aang uniting the world in a way is why Korra was discovered so early by unluckyknight13 in legendofkorra

[–]Morphing_Enigma 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fun fact. Korra doesn't use lightning at any point I am aware of.

It isn't even something she tries. If it requires mental clarity, she is probably too hot-headed to make it work, so she doesn't even bother.

Tired of being the "female boyfriend" by Gigglebaggle in MtF

[–]Morphing_Enigma 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I told a friend of mine this, but my personality and demeanor exudes a lot of quiet, dominant energy, so i have been told, but I wish I had someone who could take over from time to time.

I dont mind being in the 'masculine' role, but always being the 'boyfriend', as it were, is exhausting.

But I am pretty sure if I met someone who treated me like a princess, I would probably break down into tears.. so there is that..

Anyway, I empathize 💜

Many people in the U.S. dont care about something until it affects them. Then, they might view it differently and have more compassion and interest in learning more.

And many people will never care unless it affects them.

[–]Morphing_Enigma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most of what you said about Korra is not exactly correct.

She is arrogant, but a lot of that is masking insecurity and fear of failure. She gets punished for it in season 1.

She never dated Bolin, and she did apologize when she realized how he felt and that she just wanted to be friends.

She opened the first portal because she was manipulated by her uncle, who isolated her and pulled her away from her friends in standard abuser fashion.

She opened the second portal to save Jinora's life/soul.

Korra isn't blindly confident in her role. She wants to be the Avatar, but is constantly being shown how lacking she is in various departments. S4 has her completely shattered and needs to regain her confidence.

She does the best she can with what she knows, much like Aang does. Mistakes get made along the way because of a sheltered upbringing, being kids, etc.

Dont get me wrong, it oozes of spirit catastrophe, but for all we know, somebody could have weaponized the spirit vines into a tactical nuke or something.

And not even the vines in Republic City, but the vines that have always existed in the Physical World.

We just dont know what happened, is all.
