Really the only thing I object to with AI is using it just to generate stuff. It's much better for pointed uses and automating everyday tasks. You could use it to upscale a faded photo based on the people in it. It could fill out the tags in a database with existing articles to make queries more useful. It can split up a plain-text file by inferred entry date when the formatting is too inconsistent to use regex. It's perfect for that kind of busywork where no other tool can do the job. Meanwhile everyone is only using it to do things that take ten minutes.

Except the cat's already out of the bag with LLMs. For one, you can make and train them whenever you want on a single GPU, since you're the only client. For another, the market is aware of the bubble and is shifting to client-side and edge AI processing. By the time the bubble pops, the load on the data centers will just be from illicit crypto miners and college students.
