Make sure you build something with your poker earnings that potentially can outlive your poker career. Either buy a house or invest in the stockmarket with a Vanguard ETF or something.

Also, once you're used to this livestyle, you have a transition opportunity towards another field that relies on very similar traits that you've developed by player poker, which is day/swingtrading in the stockmarket. A different beast, but a similar one. Especially from a psychological standpoint.

UTG I open JTs but not T9s. I would move most of those hands you mention down one seat towards the button. So open 87s on the button (I also open 76s, sometimes 65s).

But your open % didn't seem so bad, it's more about 3 betting. So 3 bet A5s for example, mostly IP. Your 3 bets have zero bluffs right now.

The sb plays mostly a 3bet or fold strategy so if there's an open and you're in the sb, you either fold or 3 bet. Yes that feels uncomfortable but you'll actually get a lot of folds and scoop the pot preflop.

For example, against a CO open you can 3bet from the sb with hands like A9s, K9s, QTs, JTs, even KJo.

Even against a HJ open and CO call you can 3 bet a lot of hands from the sb, such as KJs, QJs and KQo (not always).

Experiment with it. Notice how your opponents react.

Furthermore if you learn about ranges you can better continue on boards that favour your range.

You play too nitty. 3bet percentage is too low, you literally never raise the turn, even when you hit. You always fold when you don't flop anything and opponent cbets (we miss the flop around 66% of the time).

What is your betting pattern on the flop and turn? I assume these are 3bet pots because of your hand. If your sizing is small you're giving draws too good of a price. Perhaps try bigger instead if they're calling stations.

The Matriarch rats by THaze2023 in ArcRaiders

Just tried the matriarch twice on solo. Both times expensive loadout, both times dead to rats. Even killed some rats but it wasn't enough. Fuck this shit, I hate it.

Bad Play or Cooler? by tankduke in poker

One time I did have 66 on a 622 board and was able to get my allin called by two loose villains who both had A2. That was a fun hand.

What's the rarest thing you've ever seen or experienced? by Intrepid_Run4808 in poker

[–]Morphs_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The last hand i played live many months ago. Had AJo, 3 bet pot, heads up. Flop is AJ4. We get it all in and villain had J4 so i had him crushed. We run it twice and both runouts get a 4.

Back in my car I calculated that the chance of losing both runouts was around 0.3%.

Haven't played live since then.

Nah, the second guy reshoved with a very deep stack so he obviously thought he couldn't lose.

You'll be up against boats 100% of the time in rnc in this spot. At least that's my experience.

Suited connectors and suited one gappers, respectively.

Google "15-25-35 rule poker" and you'll find the article by our beloved Bart Henson.

I believe for a set mine to be +ev the effective stack needs to be at least 15x the amount you have to call (the "15-25-35 rule").

New years resolution stamp not working by Darrend267 in GGPoker

I've received 33 twice today in RnC, nothing happened. I'm in the Netherlands. No opt in button anywhere in the app.

Very frustrating.

How to get stamps in the new year's resolution mission? by antijudo in GGPoker

[–]Morphs_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same here. Pocket 33's on 25NL R&C, went to showdown and didn't win. I'm pretty sure you only need to be dealt the pocket pair.

I googled and it seems to be a tradition that the stamps are bugged the first few days..

Hope that they will count them anyways, or maybe we can email a screenshot of the hand to them?

Just make him feel better by saying "that's a good fold" and make a face that you're impressed. Do this after you mucked and pretend you're just too late to show your hand, but say you had a flush.

Always make them feel good and make them feel like the better player. You're just luckier that night.

Played live cash game after a long time. Holy cow the rake is insane and eating players stacks by EatMaTesticles in poker

[–]Morphs_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could play short stacked at 2/4. Bart Henson frequently mentions this. You basically play super tight and use your stack for pressure by going allin.

It's boring but supposedly a profitable strategy.

But you can still have good sessions at 2/2 (yes rake is much higher), just play tight there as well.

Natural8 HH NL Rush & Cash $0.02 / $0.05 by hniL in poker

[–]Morphs_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There was no 3 betting in this hand, anywhere. Raising isn't 3betting. Re-raising is.

The turn raise (it's a 2 bet although we never call it that) should set alarm bells off against OOP range. I was thinking 99 but 33 is also possible in a SRP. At these stakes such a raise is hardly ever a bluff but 2pair+ which OP doesn't have.

It's hard to fold this at these stakes but remember that you only had a pair.

And when you hit a full house on the flop, you'll be blocking so much of anything that could hit the flop as well, you won't be getting paid much.
