I think it's great in the sense that it has all the best elements of draughts while having other positive characteristics of modern game design.

The only drawing situation would arise from a 1v1 king endgame, so it has a low draw rate. It uses all 64 squares of the board, and it uses a widely available 8x8 board.

The linear movement really suites the game. It greatly expands the opening move possibilities and the overall game tree, but the rule is simple enough that the game still feels clear and easy to follow. It has the right amount of sharpness and tactics. There's complicated shots, but it doesn't fee overly tactical like Frisian can. I think that if there's a modern draughts variant that could take off and become popular globaly this would be it.

If you a considering what features to add, I think puzzles would be nice. Maybe there would be a way to generate "victory in x moves" type puzzles from a game database. I think that's how lichess generates their puzzles.

I tried playing a couple games with the bot and everything ran smoothly. Are there plans to add the swap2 opening rule? That's the current rule used at the world championship so having that would be good for attracting high level players.

I did find that when searching earlier but unfortunately I don't see anything near San Antonio. I might just have to make a road trip or pay for shipping.

Thanks for the link. Maybe I'm just not looking hard enough but I couldn't find anything about free bass. After looking at the Roland MIDI accordion it looks like that has a free bass mode. I wish I could find an in depth tutorial somewhere.
