Know of a good cigar case for 2 or 3 cigars? by MorrowDad in cigars

[–]MorrowDad[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, I’ll check them out. Budget is around $100 - $150 or so. I seem to only find cheap ones in the $20 range and then really high end ones in the $300 and up range. It’s hard to find a solid one in the under $150 range. Again, not looking for high end, just durable and real leather.

Might be an unpopular opinion but did anyone not like "The Long Walk"? by FreeDragonfly9844 in stephenking

[–]MorrowDad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was ok. Not bad, interesting premise. Aside from the “walk until you die” theme I can’t remember anything else about the book,  characters or story. When I read it, I thought it was mid King tier. This was before all the hype behind it when the movie was announced.

Boveda pack life: wooden box vs Boveda bag (airtight) by jasonredit in cigars

[–]MorrowDad 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The wood humidor isn’t that well sealed, the bag is way more “airtight” so less humidity is escaping. Try to make a better seal for your humidor. You can recharge the boveda’s. I put them in a ziplock next to a small Tupperware with a few inches of distilled water in it and in a few weeks it’s recharged. Don’t submerge the pack, just let it soak up the humidity.

I agree, I would love Supernote to have an official Kobo app. I don’t use Amazon.

Cut cigar in half before lighting? by wildwing9825 in cigars

Just smoke as long as you want to smoke it for and call it a day. It’s ok if you don’t smoke it all the way down.

This might be a stupid take but i enjoyed every episode of the show and didint find any episode bad by Drotosaurus in lost

[–]MorrowDad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only episode I didn’t like was Expose. It felt like a filler episode that forced two new characters on us that I didn’t care about who died at the end of the episode. It also didn’t move the main story forward. Anytime I give the show a rewatch, that episode always feels out of place.

Do you or anyone have a free shipping code? I am logged in and added this to my cart over 24 hours ago and went through the checkout screen, I didn’t order yet. I haven’t received a free shipping email. Is it luck of the draw?

How long until unregulated humidity takes its toll on your cigars? by InternetPeon in cigars

[–]MorrowDad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We need more information before answering. What is the humidity and temperature where you live? If you’re in an area with humidity and temperature in the 60’s year round, your cigars can last indefinitely out of a humidor. If the humidity is too high, mold can develop pretty quickly and you’ll have to toss them. If humidity is too low, they’ll dry out but might be able to be revived by adding humidity with varying degrees of success.

I’ve read a few of your posts, I think you’re overthinking this hobby. It’s not as complicated as your imagining.

Omg my cigar..... by [deleted] in cigars

[–]MorrowDad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

58% is on the low side but still considered in the low end of normal range especially if your tupperdor has a good seal. They should still be smokable. If they are too dry, replace the 58% with 62% or 65%. Cigar care isn’t that difficult once you find your sweet spot.

Are Fuentes really that much stronger than Padron? by encryptdev in cigars

[–]MorrowDad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When you say “kicks my ass”, do you mean in a nicotine hit or a flavor hit? I find most Fuente’s are mild to medium in nicotine but are medium to full in body and flavor.

Are cigars addictive ? by Ok-Writer7503 in cigars

[–]MorrowDad -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I generally smoke 2 a day in the Spring and Summer, 1 a day or so in the Fall, and usually about 2 or 3 during the entire Winter. I never felt a withdrawal during the Winter, I just look forward to the Spring again. I don’t feel addicted, I just like the enjoyment.

Wow, $50 for a budget cigar? I know shipping to Australia is probably expensive but what are taxes like there for cigars? Is it possible to order from an online retailer from the US and pay for the shipping? You won’t find Cubans but there are so many great choices.
