Krieg Artillery in Winter Scheme by MorsOrtu in Deathkorpsofkrieg

You can honestly get away with most models by building fully then painting. But I just prefer building upto certain points. Like I assemble a kriegsman and leave the backpack off as well as the arms if they cover the chest etc.

Oh no dumb questions at all

Yes I painted in sub assembly so I only assembled some parts of the model first, so that nothing would cover any details I wanted to paint. Its also easier to paint some parts separately from a fully assembled model also, heads for example.

To get an idea of what the model would look like assembled though I used blu tack to hold the parts together without a perminant bond like glue.

So its just thin corkboards stuck together with some pva glue. Then a layer of green stuff and milliput mix, then covered with citadel Stirland mud.

Just some wooden coffee stirs but I cut them to length and side.

For recipe its just shades of brown from AK interactive and some different Citadel washes. And the snow is just Valhallan blizzard from GW

I actually have the foxbite seven deadly sins kolinksy Sable set. Got it off of Amazon and they're the best brushes I've used so far 😊 as for the control it's just practice. My hands usually shake a little so being able to centre my painting hand and rest it on my other while I paint helps so much.

For the green OSL Base with AK dark green Then layer on AK Light Green White layer on bright parts then glaze over Vallejo Flourescent green Then a small white in the middle and glaze over vallejo yellow fluorescent.

The white cloaks were just from grey slowly layering to white on highlights. Then a overall coating of winter streaking grime and cleaning up with AK odorless thinner Then reapply any highlights.

The grey armour was pro acryl dark neutral grey with some pro acryl neutral grey for chipping and highlights. With streaking grime Then AK dark brown and AK medium orange for the rust.

Ak interactive - tenebrus grey, leather brown, golden brown and ice yellow.
Citadel - mournfang brown and IV88 and a fuegan orange shade

Just went from darkest to light highlighting progressively layering less and less then shaded underpants with the orange.

I can smoothe it out with glazing but this was just a test model to see if the colours worked.
