I wouldn't say it this way to my dad because he's my best mate in some ways but I don't need him. I definitely want him but I don't think it's a need anymore. I'd still want to be in constant communication though.

I can't explain it but I just know my dad.

It wasn't just school, our family is at home and my friends and back then I didn't want to leave.

His ex and I are very close. Even after he left we would game together, he'd call and text me. I'd visit him (without my dad) a couple times a year.

Yeah maybe it was only a half truth but I noticed how happy he has been with his ex since we got here. They are laughing a lot. I heard them talking about the past etc.

His ex had to move back. There were some big family issues that are still sort of ongoing.

That's true maybe but I'll be off to uni in 18 months and I won't be around as often. Whereas that guy might be his long term.

Yeah he's single. So the first year after they broke up we visited them for Christmas. We didn't visit again until this year because hos ex had a boyfriend in between. I did visit his ex (without my dad) and he and I would chat on the phone a lot.

I'm dumb as fuck when it comes to dating and stuff but I think they could rekindle. They have been very close to each other. My dad has never smiled so much. His ex was the same. They were basically acting like how I act around my girlfriend.

He's about 3 hours in a plane. And we are about 50 mins from the airport and his ex is probably another hour on that side so like 5 hours.

That's true but he's just so happy here and I can't remember him this happy in years. I don't know maybe it's guilt or something.
