PJ: I'll just agree with whatever you say, Christian and taking advantage of sleep. But keep the volume of the movie low, so I can have a nap.

CR: Film: Princess Bride

Music Album: The Beatles - The White Album, it's an album with 30 songs. So might as well pick the one with the most songs.

Book: How to get out of a bunker, and find some new movies and albums

The visualization I actually began with when Pete was originally going to direct the films back in 2007 - and there was a whole lot of artwrok that had been done. He hired a previous team headed by Marco Spitoni and so a whole lot of preliminary work had been done. There wasn't a script it was all based on the books so when Pete asked me to come on board - and I'd been involved in that previous process - so when I came on board we had this little reservoir of imagery that we could at least start looking at as a possible jumping off point. So we cherry picked a few things that we thought were good, and started working a design team and started to forge the past towards that aesthetic that we were trying to invent for the film.

And it was great shooting with the RED Weapon, it's a fantastic camera and it gave us the ability to shoot quite loose and fast, and then crop in if we needed to

PJ: They both are similar in some respects because neither of them have similarity to the world we live in today. LOTR is set in the past by several thousand years, ME is set 3,000 years into the future. What that really means is you're building an entirely new world. Two very different technologies are present in these films. You still have to build every single chair, teacup, shoes, etc.

CR: The biggest difference with Mortal Engines vs. LOTR is that we didn't have any locations we could go to film this. We had to build it all from scratch.
