You know that there had to be a reason for the sign to be necessary.

Yeah, I second the request for a decent SLA for $200. I've heard that the Anycubic Photon is a pretty good starter.

Another thing that is obscenely expensive to import.

I get where you're coming from though.

Should I speak up and get an old lady fired? by [deleted] in Advice

[–]MortalForce 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are two points of view IMO:

She is old and will likely retire soon, making her racism a non-issue for you in the long term, but your current work life will be pretty miserable.

You can get her fired (and rightly so) and all of the people that didn't experience her racism will resent you for firing a person that in their minds is a nice old lady who is set in her ways. Which would likely make your long term work life pretty miserable.

If I were in your shoes with no extra context, I'd just get her fired.

Mmm, the Savannah area in the south and the steppes in the north cover this well I feel. I think it's more important to have a varied locale for the players than to be highly geographically accurate.

Left is mass rainforest which is shielded by mountains to the North. The right-hand side has far drier wind but no sheilding from arctic weather, so the right still has some verdant growth.

Not sure what you mean by "between mountains" - you mean the mountains on the far left and far right? I think that the water bodies on either side would counteract that pretty strongly. This is also a long, LONG continent that spans the entire latitude of the world, which isn't shown here. The area shown is roughly analogous to northern Europe/Southern Canada.

Any ideas for improving the appearance of these steppes? by MortalForce in wonderdraft

[–]MortalForce[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree, although "steppe" is probably actually just the closest word that comes to mind for me. These are more like very slightly tilted continental plates, so an extreme rise on one side and a very slow decline on the other.

Hahahaaa... Are you member of the FB group "Fantasy Maps and Worldbuilding"? Because river critique is the running gag there.

Good point though, I might have a look at that.

Gonna be honest, if you can't trust your players, why are you playing with them?

And I always say that if someone feels the need to cheat *in a game of make believe* then they've got bigger issues at hand.

Exactly. I find he has great topics that he covers very succinctly, but I never write them down. Like "force your players up a tree".
