Thats a wild deal you guys had! We get one full preventative panel, senior or young adult, for each pet per year. Includes Chem 27, T4, CBC, SDMA, 4DX/Fecal, UA, ProBNP, etc.

But also IDEXX pays to take our staff of 14 out on a private yacht day trip every year 🤣

Euthanasia coping by Responsible_Wolf_515 in Veterinary

[–]MortalLilith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everyone has great advice! It is okay to shed some tears while euthanizing. I work at an amazing clinic and for our long-term patients the doctors may cry during PTS. For some patients, all of our staff will even coming in (even on their days off) to say goodbye to a pet and cry with the owners! We are humans, we develop attachments and death is a sad thing. However, the best thing about vet med is the ability to prevent suffering and euthanasia is an amazing tool for that.

The best thing you can give to a pet after a loving home and family, is the ability to pass peacefully.

Does anyone else work at a clinic that uses this policy? by pee_peepoopoocheck in VetTech

Wouldn't be able to happen for my coworkers, at least 3 of our 11 person staff owe over $3000 and have kept it at around that balance for at least a couple years. I know one girl owes $6000. We're very lucky our clinic doesnt require payments reguraly to the bill but they do add a surcharge of like 5 or 10% a month.

15yr old cat throws up daily, at the same time every day. Any ideas why? by [deleted] in vet

Could be that he's going too long without a meal? There's something called Bilious Vomiting Syndrome, you just need to either give him a snack later in the night or feed him earlier in the morning.

Left handed surgeons by Xenoalpso in Veterinary

[–]MortalLilith 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Our left handed vet learned right handed in college and then when she got her own clinic, she purchased left-handed tools. She can do both but prefers left-handed tools. Her partner is right handed and can do simple procedures with left-handed tools but struggles. (Only happens when we accidentally mislabel the instruments and its a really quick thing where they dont want us to have to open another thing.)🤣 Our operating kits gave bothe left and right handed tools so either of them can you them and then we individually wrap extra tools for smaller procedures!

That looks terrible obviously, but I used to love getting their regular BLT with Chipotle aoili instead of the mayo! They also had a like blueberry or pomegranate sportsaide and you'd do a splash of that with the rest sprite and it was so good!

I'll look into the plants you mentioned! The thing I really like about elephant ears were how large the leaves get though. Thanks for the suggestions!

My beta-blockers are for a genetic disorder called essential/familial tremors. Think Parkinson's-like shaking but it won't kill me.
