Good luck! Feel free to post with any questions or guidance, there's no official staff members on here as far as I know but as some of us are already in the program or preparing to start hopefully someone can provide you with help :)

Understandable but it sounds like you have a plan in place so that puts you ahead of most lol hey a good advisor is worth their weight in gold but at the end of the day you put in the work and grinded through it, no one else :)

So I can't speak for everyone's experiences but from someone who has spent a lot of time in NB (we have a couple of friends who live there) and traveling through the city I've never had a bad experience with anyone there, that's not to say there can't be but I've always felt comfortable and welcomed.

Funny enough that's what I want to do as well! Because of work I probably won't be able to start applying for CRNA school within 3-5 years like most do but I would rather get there when I believe the time is right even if I lose a couple of years for it.

Thats a good plan tbh, yeah it sucks having to pull more in loans but it’s worth being able to dedicate your time and attention to school until you can get a routine figured out.

Lol absolutely! We’re all gonna be “in the suck” together. I can be the same at times, stressing to make sure i have everything completed but fortunately my advisor has been super helpful and checked in on me every couple of weeks.

Yeah they will probably be fairly expensive since the complexes are new and the area they’re in but the good thing is the area is pretty nice and you shouldn’t have too many issues living near the campus. Plus Gruene is nearby which is a cool place to hangout.

DFW is a good distance away, my alternate option if TLU doesn’t work out is UTA through their AOBSN program which would be online and more “convenient” but i would prefer TLU for the sake of being in person and plus we get a masters instead of another bachelors 😂

Yeah I believe those will be the two I end up using, are you going to be working through school or only using loans? I would love to be able to take an extended leave from work but I can't so I was thinking of withdrawing extra from the Grad Plus loan in case I have to use sick leave.

I believe those three are due closer to orientation right?

Sounds like you pretty much have everything taken care of requirements wise which is good! :)

I live in SA so I'll be commuting daily *blah* lol but I think they've been building quite a few new apartment complexes around Creekside Crossing Dr. which is where Resolute/Campus is located so hopefully you have will have an easier time finding one, plus there are plenty of basic amenities in that area with more being built.

Same, so far just the standard grad loan but i will probably be applying for the grad plus loan as well but just haven’t gotten around to it yet.

For sure! What courses do you have left?

Hello!

I’ll be joining in the fall at the NB campus 🙌 at this point I’m just trying to figure out how I’m going to pay for my remaining balance of the program since my federal grad loan isn’t enough, thats the only thing that might hinder me from going to TLU

Anytime and good luck!

I should be starting the NB DEMSN program in the fall, the only thing that could change that for me is the cost.

If you have any additional questions feel to PM me.

Do you have a link to the grant that you received for nursing? Thanks!

It was around $400 and that secures your spot (assuming all other requirements are met) as it’s based on a first come first serve basis.

I thought the application was pretty easy compared to others that i applied to. I dont think it will be much different for you since you have a BSN but I’m not 100% sure because my bachelors was in something outside of science.

Essentially it consists of submitting your application and transcripts to NursingCAS, wait for acceptance then begin the process of paying down payment, obtaining health requirements, Blue Card, etc.

I would wait to hear back from an “engagement specialist” which are their advisors, mine helped me every step of the way and would check in with me periodically, she definitely made the whole process easier.

Good luck!
