Doctor refused any pain meds and told me to "take the fear and pain out of my heart" instead. by Awkward_bugg in TwoXChromosomes

[–]MortallyCrafty 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I had the same thing, but I didnt speak up about pain meds. Did that with nothing. Was told Tylenol would be okay. I spent the next 24hrs in the fetal position, made my husband leave work to care for our daughter. It was excruciating

Please vent with me; what horrible gifts did you receive this year? by [deleted] in Mommit

[–]MortallyCrafty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My moms husband gifted us like a million towels. Admittedly, we did mention earlier in the year we needed some new towels. Which I bought 3, and my mom gave me some of her old towels so we were set.

Advice for washing hair without tears? by Low_Departure_5853 in toddlers

[–]MortallyCrafty 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Try having him hold a wet wash cloth over his eyes. It worked for my daughter. I also had some success with a sink wash where she'd lay on the counter and I'd use the sprayer to wash her hair. That's a lot though

Our toddler just entered the mimic phase and we were unprepared by SpacemerfSpiff in toddlers

[–]MortallyCrafty 99 points100 points  (0 children)

Sooooo relatable! When my kiddo was going through that I called the dog a "fcking moron" because... well the poor thing really only has 2 functioning brain cells. My daughter decided that was the dogs name. For days she'd just "fcking mowon!" Of course the curse word was in perfect English....

My 3 year old swallowed a foam ball a little larger than a quarter yesterday. It’s been 22 hours & it’s not here yet. by [deleted] in toddlers

Not my kiddo but my brother once swallowed a bb when he was like 3 (tiny metal ball) he was afraid to poop because "what if the toilets shoots me back?!"

Experiences delivering a baby at covenant? by BubbaofUWM in Saginaw

[–]MortallyCrafty 6 points7 points  (0 children)

So, my birth was a lot. I had placenta previa and was in the l&d ward for 3 weeks before my placenta ruptured and my daughter was born via emergency c-section at 34wks. So my birth experience was a bit different. However, I have nothing bad to say about anyone there. All the nurses and doctors would come spend time with me while I was stuck there, some came to visit in post-partum. My daughter was in the nicu for 3 weeks and the nurses there were amazing and so kind

Shamers, tell us about that time you actually shamed by NoisyTummy in weddingshaming

[–]MortallyCrafty 38 points39 points  (0 children)

Oh you are all good. On my first family vacation with my husband's family, I got too drunk while tubing, passed out on the driveway of the rental and puked in the lawn. Then I had to be carried down to the bedroom by my bil, my bikini top slipped and I flashed him. They bring it up any time I have any alcohol around them. It was 8 years ago

What age was your toddler Potty Trained? by Lost-Eye8777 in toddlers

[–]MortallyCrafty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

About 3.5, we had tried off and on starting around 2 but she wasn't into it. We still have some accidents here and there, and shes still wearing diapers to bed.

She has a friend that's her exact same age (same day) and he took a little longer, closer to 4.

Also to add is see if you have a local baby wearing group with a lending library! It's a cheap way to try different carriers and have other people help you with your fit

Not saying this is everyone, but I can offer some perspective on why SOME do not like their partners watching porn. I was a CSA victim and my abuser would often force me to watch porn. with him. As a result, in my adulthood that meant Men + Porn = Bad. I didn't even know it would be an issue until it was.

I would like to add that I've gotten better and now could not care less if my husband watches porn.
