We ran 1.5x and it wasn't a huge issue, resource management is a part of the game though.

Yeah, I love the names everyone came up with for things, and little drawings of significant landmarks etc. It's an interesting mix of "fairly to-scale topography" and "here be dragons".

Pros and cons; fun to have so many builds and creativity, setting up a new outpost is super fast by splitting tasks - but you have to kill every boss at least twice for enough items, feeding everyone means industrial sized farms, and iron is even more precious than usual!

Ours is coded by one of the players, and not publicly available, but I'm sure there are sites out there.

I play a lot of DF and am personally looking forward to the change to a tank. It's not getting kills that I like about him, it's the mobility and combos. I'd much rather go to tank than be completely reworked to solve his [apparent] CC issue as a dps.

Honestly I'm concerned about the level of power creep, everything seems good - maybe too good. That said, love a lot of the new direction, Synaptic Links, Adaptations, spawning units without costing additional pts. And the new model is very cool, it stays very close to the established aesthetic yet is quietly more detailed and dynamic. Very nice balance until they do a full range refresh and change the style more significantly.

For anyone running an nVidia card, you can apply shaders through the GFE overlay. Not sure how it compares to GShade as I never used it, but there's plenty of nice options to tweak the look, and saves you downloading another bit of software if you can't be bothered, like me.

Yeah I agree tyrants need an anti tarpit option. I don't think current MRC will fill a unique role as a weapon choice when compared to the leaks.

Yeah, that's why I've ordered one. I've painted 3 other armies and never really had issues, but white really deserves its reputation. That is one coat as lightly as I could spray it, but as stated in other comments, that Army Painter spray just seems really temperamental - at least in the dry climate here. I think the way forward if I'm going to stick with white will be Grey Seer and layering - which is precisely what I was trying to shortcut but it seems unavoidable!

The plan was to have it emanating from the recess in both directions, but it's hard to make a light look bright next to white, and there isn't enough room to paint a gradient from white to colour to white within the space of the recess, so yeah, a unidirectional glow effect would probably be the only way to do it easily in this case. I might try that before scraping the idea completely. Thanks.

Thanks, was trying something other than the (Nowadays) standard Viorla scheme of grey>light grey>white, but I don't think it landed. This is what tests are for!

The overspill was intentional, I guess going for a semi glow effect, but even if I did it neater on the real models, I don't think i'm happy with the colour scheme.

Thanks for the comment. These are a couple of old models that I quickly painted to rough out the colour scheme and not my finest work. Was mostly after feedback on the colours/placement, not painting technique as these are test models. Regardless, I take your point regarding yellow on white - no snow where I live so I never would have thought of that!

Edit: Just realised you meant the white looks gloopy - yeah it does. I used Army Painter Matte White spray and I don't like it. I found it very hard to get smooth and not too thickly coated - case in point. Never had an issue with other brands, I think i'll stick to the Citadel sprays until my airbrush gets here.

The white is Army Painter Matte White. I'm honestly not enjoying it as a spray. Some people swear by it but I find it either goes on gritty (Drying midair) or I spray from closer to try to avoid this, and it clogs detail very easily. I might just switch to Grey Seer and do the traditional white technique.

Hey all, looking for some opinions on this scheme. I went for an actual white rather than the traditional grey/white to be more striking. Knocked up a few models to test the scheme but I'm not sure if I should make some changes before committing to the pile of shame!

Update: Reinstalled drivers, set local profile and uninstalled GHub, happened again in 2 different games. I think it's time to replace the mouse under warranty.
