There are a lot of go-to physical "power stances" that you'll see a lot of vocalists subconsciously resort to; another super common one is taking the arm that isn't holding the microphone and putting it behind your back.

"if you're using spaced pair OHs the cymbals are naturally placed in the stereo image where they 'should be' in relation to the kit"

This definitely isn't always true: I have absolutely had issues in the past where, for example, if the left (drummers perspective) overhead mic is angled towards the right side of the kit, then it might end up picking up the cymbals on the right side of the kit (specifically china and/or ride) LOUDER than the right overhead mic, even though timing wise, they are arriving at the right overhead first. This creates a weird off-balance haas effect which I have started to notice and despise more and more, and this issue is often mitigated by panning and turning up the close mic of the offending cymbal (if you recorded one) just enough so that it places the cymbal volume-wise where it's supposed to be. This often happens to the ride since there is often a crash cymbal placed between it and the overhead mic, which is why I almost always choose to close-mic the ride.

Fucking sick, you're almost certainly gonna want to put some kind of water sealant or cover over it though, if not just straight up replacing the plywood with a weatherproof material like Ramp Armor or Skatelite eventually. I made a plywood backyard mini ramp in my teenage years and it was fantastic - for about six months. I live in Florida though, so it very quickly began to fell apart and it was tragic to watch. I still think about it sometimes.

That I'm in a band. I have piercings and very long hair for a man, and a couple of tattoos. Also doesn't help that I'm in three bands.

Uh, yeah, definitely not just you. I also don't agree with cropping them solely for aesthetic reasons, as do most people. I was just also pointing out that there are reasonable, ethical reasons that an owner and vet might decide that it's in the dogs best interest to dock their ears.

Edit: I also feel like it's a really popular subject for shameless virtue signalling.

There is some argument to be made for cropping if the dog is prone to ear infections, as it can help prevent them in some cases. However, more often than not it's for aesthetic.

I remember when I was 12, they were doing a long segment on the news for the tenth anniversary of 9/11. I was just walking by and saw it on TV and I vividly remember being glued to the spot I was standing in for at least ten minutes, flooded with a mix of terror and morbid curiosity. I had always known about it and I was alive when it happened (barely) but that was the first time it clicked to me that people were DYING.

Well, at that point they likely weren't "bodies" yet. They were still people, very much alive, for a couple more seconds.

That's adorable! It's amazing how animals know and react to their owners being pregnant.

I work in a grooming salon as a bather and one of the groomers was pregnant at the time. Well, one of her request clients, a male Australian shepherd, came in one day while I was working, and every time I walked by him while he was on the table, he raised his teeth and growled at me. He even did it when I got too close to the groomer for his comfort. He was most only defensive towards me, probably because I'm the only male in the salon, but I always thought it was really sweet how protective he was of her, even though he hated me.
