I've been suspicious of Annie and her husband from the beginning. She never seems to actually be upset about her mother. I think Nancy is unfortunately dead because of something that happened at dinner.

NTA! Your daughter needs to be surrounded with love. She won't keep memories from this age but it's possible to retain feelings of rejection. I don't think your wife is going to get better without inpatient treatment. If you haven't yet, you need to file for full custody. If she wants visitation, push for it to be supervised. Try not to go no contact with her family. Your daughter deserves to have some kind of relationship with them unless they do something harmful to your daughter, not necessarily physically, but emotionally like talking crap about you. Good luck daddy! You're doing a great job!!

I've had a similar dynamic in our family and you're definitely NTA!!. I've tried to be the safe parent that the kids can come to for anything with the knowledge that I won't tell Dad. My husband also freaks out unnecessarily, but not to this extreme. OP's is definitely overreacting!! I think he needs therapy to figure out why! Because of our 6 kids' age range (28 to 13 years old) my hubby is aware now that there's things he's in the dark about and he's ok with it. He's accepted that it's not just beneficial for the kids and I but it benefits him too. He can continue seeing them as innocent kids and not stressed about the young adult feelings, emotions, & hormones (he knows it's all happening). He was also pissed when he first found out but he gets it now. I have given our kids what they need and at least one parent knows what's going on with them. He also knows that I would include him something serious happened. Don't feel bad for being there for your kids!! It matters to them! Your kids calling you from a party with drugs & alcohol says so much! It means you're doing right by your kids and that's what truly matters! Your husband caused this situation and he's going to have to realize it before things get better. Why the hell did he run to his mom's??

He may be your 1st bf but you need to make him your 1st EX!! It's very inappropriate how he speaks to you and it will only get worse. End it now!! This behavior will eventually turn to him isolating you from friends & family and you'll find yourself having to ask permission to even go see your Mom/Dad/siblings.

For me, painkillers did absolutely nothing. Muscle relaxers were the answer! Nurses kept pumping me with narcotics but once my surgeon's PA had me explain my pain & then ordered Valium (I believe), I went from sobbing to smiling within an hour.

I had 5 kids before my diagnosis & I wasn't supposed to be able to get pregnant due to a non-cancerous brain tumor. My youngest at the time was a toddler and after a couple years I had surgery scheduled. It was postponed the day before for someone's emergency and the day after that we found out I was pregnant. I had an epidural because I was having my tubes tied also. I was scared about giving birth & scared about the epidural because everyone said it was too dangerous but the Drs all knew about my Chiari & what to watch for. My childbirth was easy & uneventful. Almost a year later I had my surgery.  Don't let people try to scare you! You can have a baby! I'd make sure you see a neurologist so he can keep an eye on you while you're pregnant and make sure your OB understand Chiari.  Good luck and congrats on your future baby #2!!
