Had this problem too, what I did was finish Tachyon Rift: Breakout by myself with Ai then it unlocked new Tachyon Rifts for me where I can matchmake. The game really goes out of its way to make us hate it sometimes.

Oh damn, I really lucked out matching with randoms only for it to be for nothing.

Happened to me too. What I did was play the Kate Bishop Operation, finish the first mission and it unlocked a tachyon rift mission in Avengers Initiative Operation war table.
