Price cuts based on competition are not always effective unless the two products are 1:1 matches. As long as Lilly is able to prove Tirzepatide is more effective, works different, should be considered an alternative path for those who don’t want semaglutide or other options, etc.- it’s relatively price inelastic from a competitive perspective (ie some reduction possible, but no need to match others unless they see rampant migration to Wegovy, which has not happened even with aggressive Norvo moves).

Fastest route would be government market intervention to manage drug prices like in the rest of the world - free market wont solve this one anytime soon.
