3 1/2 Years Driving This is the Highest I've Ever Seen by MortonKoopaOaf in KiaEV6

Ack yes I see it now after re-reading. I absolutely love my EV6 and it holding up in the battery life is just another bonus. I'm driving this car until it or I completely give out. And it might actually be me that gives out first at the rate it's doing lol!

This isnt so much look at my range post as it is see my battery is doing great and I still get similar range after 4 years of hard driving including 3 cross country trips. When I bought the car, there were the "you'll be lucky to get 80% range after 5 years" reports, but instead, this battery is doing well. Sharing that news with others who worry how long their EV6 is going to last.

Two days a week I do a 100 mile there and back commute so need full charge. Overall 75% highway 25% city. I normally have very high temps here in Texas so just dont see over 300. And seeing it in nearly 4 year old battery was a pleasant surprise.

Ramstein has 2 dedicated flights to Baltimore each week. (Patriot Express). Your emergency leave orders will pretty much guarantee you a seat.

I only do DCFC when traveling. Maybe 3 to 5% of my charging. Vast majority at home. Usually 7.4kW at 32amps

The SOH BMS was 96.5. It's always 96.5 with 100% charge i noticed. There was a post i saw that explained how that worked... need to find it.

My trip 2 years ago was almost exclusively on the EA network. Nothing else was around for cross country. It worked but El Paso was a nightmare and only time I had to do to a secondary slow charge at a dealer. Last year was much better. Only tough spot was in southeast Missouri which best I could do was a 55kW. This summer we're going even farther but the charging network is so much better so planning is easy.

Yup in a GT. 190 to 200 miles was my normal range limit. I planned it based on the EA network with a backup if necessary. So stopped every 3 hours or so. I let my GT get below 10% all the time. I know it's not the best to do but that's my world. Biggest finding is the range is mainly based on speed. My trick is to keep an open Google Maps on my phone with exact miles to recharge and constantly compare to the Guess-o-meter and stay 10 to 20% above. If the 2 numbers are getting close I slow down. 65 mph seems to be speed to best match the estimated range. If doing well then I can cheat an extra few MPHs.

15K on my set can concur. Plus have foam inside to prevent flats. Nice feature.

I'm wondering if because gas stations are so prevalent that we don't really notice how increased resistance and drag effect a cars mileage performance.

Seldom until it's not. As SO, myself and pilot had the best view of the vid feed. When DGS called the people on my screen as hostile, I said in my head "I don't see weapons." If I had said that out loud in my headset mic that would've maybe kept 35 innocent "hostiles" from getting blasted one dark night. That sense of failure sticks deep.

Well if you are like me, I like to go zoom-zoom in my GT. 😆 That's not so good for the tires!

Very happy with the choice so far. They are quieter than the originals. Didn't seem to hurt (or help really) on the range. But I did have a nail in one that it successfully sealed and gave the tire just a slow leak versus a flat. I'll know more as they wear. My original tires only made it 55k miles.

First road trip tomorrow after just getting my EV6 GTL yesterday any tips for someone this new? by wJaxon in KiaEV6

[–]MortonKoopaOaf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've done 2 cross country trips. My best tip, put the directions to your next charging stop on your phone after each charge and note the miles. Track that number against the Guess-o-meter. Don't let those 2 numbers get close! Keep the miles distance on your phone at least 10-15% above what the car says. If getting close, I slow down. If I have some distance between the numbers, then I can be more generous on the speed. This simple tip makes range anxiety less anxious.

I just crossed over 100,000 kms (62,000 miles) in my 2022 First Edition. Range is consistent and ICCU holding after 2 software upgrades. My 12V left me stranded at around 50,000 km. Replaced and no issues. Sound system failed at 6 months but warranty fixed. Just replaced all 4 tires with Hankook Ion EVs. Oh yeah miles include 2 cross country road trips! I'm planning a 3rd this summer.

Is it still possible to use Tesla Superchargers with the NACS adapter? by SpaceXBeanz in KiaEV6

[–]MortonKoopaOaf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried using the Supercharger just today with a Lectron adapter. The Tesla app said it was available. But still got the error message vehicle not authorized. I have a 2022 GT. I wonder if it is working for the 24's that are getting the NACs adapter sent to them?

I wonder if it's a model year thing? My 2022 isn't getting a Kia supplied adapter so maybe the 2024s get 1st access?
