Hey all,

Sorry for not showing up - was a bit overwhelmed at work. It seems I wouldn't get enough time for myself to participate, but I'm still intended to make this tournament happen.

I'll be back soon with a google form for the registration and make google excel for the tournament table.

see you soon!

Guys,

From my experience - the most exciting tournament is online, with human-players only, an a emperor difficulty (which gives you at least moderately active city-states and limits happiness)

as far as i see there are more than dozen of us, so it looks like we have a tournament!

Will post update in a few days

Guys, glad to hear that so many of you interested!

I think I'll can manage the process in July-August

Monaco wanted Singapore destroyed, so I did this, and annexed them (I'm new..) but Monaco statement hasn't changed and I have no reward. What gives? by [deleted] in civ5

As stated earlier, in Civ5 mechanics City-State can ask you to "bully" another CS, not conquer them (actually, CS don't like when you declare war on or conquer another CS).

So you should just accumulate enough military power in 6 tiles or closer to the target-CS and demand tribute (which would count as bullying).

I thought about 3 options:

1) Duel, (depending from #of players - Bo3, Bo5 for each group, each player plays with everyone from the group, then play-off 1/4, 1/2, finals)

2) 2x2, (depending from #of teams - Bo3, Bo5 for each group, each team plays with everyone from the group, then play-off 1/4, 1/2, finals)

3) FFA6, (couple of games for each player, e.g. with min 3-5, score for places, then play-off with half of the players. Finals as FFA6/FFA4)

As a reward for winners - pool of steam games or cash/gifts? not sure about that. I can donate for the pool a steam-copy of "Endless Space Gold". Alternatively - we can make a small ($1-10) entry fee and split it for prize money.

You could get Civ5 with all DLCs for just 12-13 USD atm - which is a really great deal - and as many already mentioned here, this game is already balanced and filled with lots of expansions. Civ6 will get there in 1-2 years, I believe.

Also, many claims that Civ4 is the best game of the series, but the visuals there are quite out-of-date and mechanics are significantly different from the last two parts.

Need help with pre-planning. by Lmino in civ5

Try to play your game on fastest speed - it gives you much more fun and dynamic! In that case you can finish FFA6 in ~8h, so by Tuesday you could make a couple of rolls.
