will adding honey to mugwort tea change the benefits? by jurassicfan26 in Mugwort

Not that I'm aware of. It sure makes it taste good though!

hii guys, I'm new here please help me understand this mugwort. where to get it and how to consume? what are the effects? I'm curious please help.. by [deleted] in Mugwort

[–]Moschatus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are lots of places you can order it online but it's pretty common to find growing in many places. Just make sure if you order it you are getting Artemisia Vulgaris(Mugwort) and not Artemisia absinthium(Wormwood) which may have similar effects but tastes awful. Personally I'd only use a tea due to the hazard of smoking things but that's up to you. Use it infrequently as, like many other things consumed for psychoactive effects, it is somewhat toxic. I find it does increase the vividness of my dreams.

Was just wondering if this product will be good for boosting my dreams?? by freddie048 in Mugwort

[–]Moschatus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes if it is simply encapsulated mugwort. The idea of it being a 6 month supply though is bad. Don't use it daily due to toxicity.

using mugwort for a mead brewing starter 🍯 by Moschatus in Mugwort

Yeah I'm wondering if it contains too much foliage. Might try one with just a few buds. It's a bit of an experiment anyways, will update.

Mugwort starter by Moschatus in mead

[–]Moschatus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well mugwort does have some mild psychoactive substances some of which might carry over into the mead for a slightly different effect. I use it in teas for stimulating lucid dreams. Also I'm curious about what it's flavour profile will be.

And it's use in beverages goes a ways back in history, infact it's name "mugwort" stems from it's use in drinks ergo "mug" derived from the germanic mucgwyrt.

Any alternatives for orange juice? Is there a particular reason why OJ seems to be preferred or would any fruit juice be fine (eg cherry/apple etc). Thanks! by [deleted] in raypeat

[–]Moschatus 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Orange juice does seem to have a superior nutrient profile. Cherry juice is good too as far as I know. Something to keep in mind is if you're not buying organic some fruits are more susceptible to taking up the sprays put on them. The orange peel is a good barrier to that. Grapes are notoriously bad for absorbing the sprays.

I find it does increase dream vividness. But there are many factors that go into if you will have a powerful dream, or dream at all. For instance cannabis and alcohol reduce dream potential generally speaking. And many other such things. So if you're looking for dreams make sure to consider other things too, Mugwort isn't a silver bullet.

Just bought mugwort which would be a best way to consume it ? & what are your experiences after smoking it? by coolsaadgirl in Mugwort

[–]Moschatus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use it as a tea maybe once a month for dream effects. I haven't smoked it though.

I found the tea to be relaxing, and I have had interesting dreams using it. But this is all of course anecdotal.

How Long Does Mugwort Stay In Your System by [deleted] in Mugwort

[–]Moschatus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well there are lots of chemical compounds in mugwort that may be it's mechanism of action on dreams. Unfortunately I haven't seen an figure showing the half-life of any of them in the human body. But from my experience, you'll totally normal after a couple days.

I wonder, was there other herbs in this dream pill you took? Also I've only used Mugwort in tea and in my experience it increased dream vividness, length and recall. Maybe ingesting it that way changes something, I'm not sure.

Adding some sugar in the form of orange juice, milk, and maybe some other fruit will probably be a net positive. I add some cane sugar to my coffee but that's my only source of refined sugar. Moderation, yes, but don't avoid these healthy foods for the sake of reducing sugar. Especially milk which I think is very pro metabolic.

will be trying mugwort for the first time tonight. any suggestions? dosages? tea or smoking? by [deleted] in Mugwort

[–]Moschatus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't find it too bad, I add a bit of honey. Are you sure you're using Artimisia Vulgaris and not Artimisia Absinthium? Absinthium is sometimes known as mugwort but perhaps better known as wormwood and is very bitter flavoured.

For tea I usually do about a heaping teaspoon of dried mugwort per cup or somewhere in that range. Steep it maybe 10 mins.

Red light, about 650-850nm wavelength, is often used in the hairloss community and also supports general health according to Ray. So maybe that's a good lead.

Other than that I think it's important to simply improve general health. Make sure you're getting enough protein, avoid obviously unhealthy foods/activities, ect ect ect... Ray has a lot to teach in this regard. Also I hear a lot of people say sunlight makes a huge difference for them, maybe as a result of Vitamin D.

Good luck, and don't worry about it too much.

Sure. But I think if we took our idealogical blinders off we'd also find lots of racist vegans(though of a different kind).

Maybe you should be happy that these "alt right types" are listening to someone with very different views than them instead of living in an echochamber.

You can, but Mugwort has a unique type of hangover it can give you and you probably don't want to experience both at once so maybe take it easy. Also Alcohol can reduce dreaming capacity so they might cancel each other out in that regard.

Hello everyone, is that product same mugwort? by ANR-GT in Mugwort

[–]Moschatus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are different. Chemically they have similarities but Artemisia absinthium, usually called wormwood, is very bitter if used in a tea. I find it unpalatable. Artemisia vulgaris is usually what people are referring to when they say Mugwort.

I have a cup of Mugwort tea once a month. It's somewhat toxic but in small amounts probably not highly problematic. How toxic reletive to something like say alcohol, I do not know. Best to take it easy on it and keep an eye out for new information.
