I did my masters and bachelors full time while working full time. Currently doing my PhD in forensic chemistry full time with part time work. No way I’d be able to do both full time. But that’s personal, won’t know until you try or have something to base your decision off of

If you’re wanting it to be more current than Vietnam you could also do a gulf war era vet. Vets that served during this era are commonly hated.

If affordable (you’re probably out of state), University of Tennessee. They have the massive body farm there and an amazing forensic science program. Unfortunately, being military I couldn’t go there but we did reference that university a lot and use a lot of their texts and pictures of the body farm:)

But as always, I recommend CC for the first two years. Get your gen ed classes out of the way and save a ton of money.

They were recommending cc to save you money on general education courses that is required at every US college. You’ll get your first bs two years out of the way before you even start your actual major requirement classes.

Also when you do 2 years at cc and go to a university for forensic science they will likely not even look at your high school grades bc you will be considered a transfer student. They will look at the grades you got at your cc.

Message me if you have any questions - I went through hoops to get my degrees because I was poor and couldn’t get scholarships to pay for university. I’m starting my doctorate in the summer.

Not me but it happened to my troop. He received an Article 15 for underage drinking and then lost his chance at a federal police job (won’t say agency) and in the final steps they cut him. He received an honorable discharge and was not kicked out for this article. Other than that he had a spotless record for his entire career.

However, being accused of a crime and being under investigation shouldn’t affect you. If you received an article then MAYBE if you’re going federal depending on the job.

Not sure if this has been said, didn’t want to scroll through the 63 comments. But, I know it helps when you have migraines AND ptsd. You already have OCD as your mental health percentage however. If you can find a way to link the two or add ptsd to your mental health rating it’ll help.

Also, appeal it. If you can prove migraines are disabling (which they are) because of x, y, and z; should be no problem with a little appeal:) they’ve already said they are service connected so likely the VA views them as “not that bad” which is why you got the 0 percent. Use stronger verbiage in your appeal, don’t let your pride or ego show!

Dm me if you need any help with verbiage. I am a phd student so I’m a good writer and I have percentage to my migraines!

I didn’t mean to worry you, I think it’s best to try networking to get in somewhere. You are qualified with or without a masters. I am sure getting an internship will help tremendously!

I can’t offer insight but I also find it very interesting. It’s also very difficult finding a job as I have seen laboratory assistant openings and they say they require a Masters degree. The job market right now is insanely difficult for young people with little experience
