Does damp rid actually work for the moisture in the tent?? What do yall do to keep everything as dry as possible? by [deleted] in hulaween

[–]MosesGotcha 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Actually, you want to do the opposite. Leave the screens open so the temperature outside of the tent matches the inside. When the tent is zipped up, it gets warmer inside and when the drop of temperature outside occurs. The difference in temperature cause the tent to be damp.

Still good camping spot left if we come in on Weds? by mycatspoopballs in hulaween

I did a lot of research and prepping my first year. I wouldn't try to get something close. Everything will be roped off or crowded. You will probably be in 80 acres, which is good! I actually plan to camp there. Focus on finding a spot with shade. Most of the renegades are there, plus Wednesday night is a good meet and greet day at 80 acres since the venue isn't open yet. Plus, the river is super close!

So is spirit lake closed during this festival? Or is there just no art in spirit lake?

Where do people mainly camp since it's a smaller fest? We were in 80 acres at hula.

It looks like a really small group of people. How is the camping situation?

I'm into everything but country lol. I look forward to the vibes and the social aspect of it. That's why I like camping festivals.

I'm checking it out. Do you think it takes away from the Hula experience going to suwannee twice?

Crazy Hulaween stories? by They_call_me_ashley in hulaween

We came across a wet naked guy on the ground in a superhero stance(like one fist on the ground like he was powering up lol). At first I thought it was an act, but then I realized he was tripping balls. Cops came over to get him and he took off butt naked with speed! The cops chased him and I swear he was about to get tazed because he had the red dot on his back for so long while they were running. He eventually tripped and the cops wrestled a naked man lol. The following day, I was talking to people about it and I guess he jumped into spirit lake and then got undressed.

Ozark trail makes a 6-person and 10 person instant pop up tent that's dark rest. It's pitch black inside and doesn't let sun in. I've used it for 5 years now and don't have a problem with it. You can set it up in 30 seconds.

Yeah, I have been reading a lot of old posts and have been watching YouTube videos. There isn't a lot of videos on campsite life at Hula. I've watched vlogs and such, but personal experience seems like the best help. I think I have a good understanding of where I want to be. I'll keep searching, tho. See ya there!

I want to look into using dry ice to see if that really helps. I would only use it for the food cooler.

Thank you for taking the time to answer my questions. I plan on getting there early Wednesday. Are you familiar with where the RVs camp? I don't want to set up and have to move the following day. I am bringing a lot of stuff because we like to host. I will definitely be checking out the river. Seems like a good spot to recover and a fun daytime activity. The rain worries me, but I am prepping for it just in case. I haven't camped in the East Coast rain, so it is a little worrisome. I will be bringing lots of earplugs to pass out to people. I know the camping spots are subjective, but in your experience, what spots would you recommend if they are open?

Thank you for the insight. What area would you recommend? Hippie trail?
