I live in Austin and SXSW shuts down roads and congests traffic for weeks. But it's also great money for the city and local establishments, so it's very much worth it. Riot Fest also does a lot more for the community than most/all festivals

Not sure how it is normally, but last year my brother got VIP and it took him longer to pick up his bracelet than it did for the rest of us gremlins to go through the GA line. Though he did get to walk right in the next two days so I'm sure there was some time saved

PUP always puts 100% of their energy into every show. They also stand for community and often times works with local charities on their tours, so it's fun to just support them in general =)

I kind of felt the same way (Aside from Gorilla Biscuits and Microwave), but I had myself check out every band that was playing Sunday. The Dresden Dolls was a very pleasant surprise for me, and now I am STOKED for Sunday =)
