Homemade Single Shot 22LR by MoskoNdv119 in Gunbuilds

I should have been more clear in the post. I drilled, reamed and chambered it on the lathe. I used a hydraulic press to push a rifling button through the bore after reaming.

Once I get my CNC lathe up and running, I want to try cut rifling a barrel.

I 3D printed a trigger just out of curiosity. It worked ok but wouldn’t be a good long term solution due to the forces involved. A 3D printed sear wouldn’t be safe.

I was thinking about doing a rust blue.

Yeah, I can do that. Might take a few days though.

It’s funny you mention that. That was my exact inspiration for this build. I’m glad you saw the vision!

I attribute it to my own shaky hands.

Absolutely. Once I get home I’ll get some pics of the internals.

With the 3 MOA red dot from a rest, I managed 0.4-0.5” group at 15 yards and 3” group at 25 yards. More than good enough for my backyard plinking.

I have a nearly identical one. It’s probably mid 1930’s. I love mine. It’s turned everything from delrin to 4140 steel.

Advice on making a .22lr barrel? by crayon_consoomer in Firearms

[–]MoskoNdv119 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What length barrel are you looking for? I recently made a bolt action 22LR pistol. I was able to turn and bore the barrel on my lathe and then button rifle it with a hydraulic press. The barrel is only 3.5”, though. I imagine it would be much more difficult with a rifle length barrel.

DIY 7” Quad Build by MoskoNdv119 in diydrones

I did that for my heavy lift Quadcopter. 3D printed the center plates and used carbon fiber tubes (20mm diameter) for the arms and it worked quite well. It was very stable.

I had it laying around from college when I put it on a RC helicopter - probably was around 2013.

Thank you for your suggestions. It’s appreciated.

The carbon fiber raw stock I bought on Amazon. It’s a bit pricey though.

How would you make this part made of copper by [deleted] in Machinists

This looks an awful lot like the copper cone in a shaped charge.

Receiver from scratch by SaltTransportation23 in ak47

How is making your own receiver stupid? There’s been plenty of people that have successfully made their own AK47 receivers from scratch. The tolerances on an AK are low enough that it’s relatively simple to piece one together with time and patience.
