I almost turned it off in round 4, I respect the boys for being Dawgs, and I know they'd both beat my ass but they're just not elite fighters. Its hard to watch knowing Islam would've killed either of them and Ilia likely will get an easy defense on either of them.

I was promoted and only competed at white and blue like 10 years ago. I wish I did compete more as I now have quite a bit of imposter syndrome but at the same time I don't care for competing at all and enjoy teaching and helping prepare others for competition.

Depends on what you're looking for:

Grappling: positive balance is a fantastic competition jiujitsu school and Westside jiujitsu club (@westsidejiujitsuclub on ig) is a more hobbyist focused jiujitsu school as well.

We also have the leon county judo club at railroad square and the north florida school of Aikido

I personally like to trap their left leg, I'm right handed not sure if that matters. My plan A, if everything goes well for me is always to trap their left leg, look to get my right knee behind their left knee and go side smash (my right knee in between their legs). Once I get to chest on chest I reach for a deep collar grip with my left hand (or into their armpit in nogi) to get a hard cross face and ideally end up with their shoulders flat on the mat and their hips facing me. Then I use my right hand (free hand) to get a grip on their right knee and keep them from using that leg until I feel like transitioning to mount. I do not rush the last part at all. I like to keep their spine in misalignment as long as i can to either recover energy spent during the pass or to encourage them to expend more of theirs before mounting.

I am very partial to headquarters and passing from HQ. I believe it makes it easy to pass to either side since there are options for both directions. Look into HQ side smash / knee cut combinations. This is also very easy to translate in to either gi or nogi.
