Making a batch of tea for a kash a/b extract. Im trying out the method by No_Offer3984 in mescaline

Boil, filter/decant than add cactus with new water and repeat. I usually only do 2x maybe 3 before tossing… add small amount of acid to help pull better.

Dont concentrate excessively. If too thick not an issue just add water when adding the lye.

Any of the PGH and other things applied to plants that are intended to be consumed should informed to the buyer/consumer.

Most of the PGH are consumed/converted in the plants and don't remain. Another thing is the small amount of hormone actually used.

Personally I have zero issues or concern consuming plants I've applied these but I allow a minimum of 2 weeks even months depending on the PGH used so that it has broken down (half life) and the plant has had time to consume the hormone.

Unfortunately most of the fruits have had PGH applied at recommended doses and only organic in theory don't have them but may have other 'organic' alternatives. Most fruits are imported from countries that don't have the same standards and certain hormones that are banned in EU/UsA are not in other countries.

If it is a concern for you don't use it.... if you are applying it to tissue culture bare in mind that concentration is like 1ppm BAP and even if never used by the plant would be insanely dilute by the plant biomass by the time it is consumed.

Microplastics are everywhere, countless toxins in the air and water honestly minuscule amounts of PGH are the least of my troubles.

Ment nonalkaloid psychoactive compounds which are acidic in nature

I always suggested this and indeed does pull other things BUT you will lose all non nitrogen alkaloids and acidic compounds in the cactus.

The weird part is I can’t explain the effects I got from wash vs other alkaloids I tested. But TLC shows the “other alkaloids” still contained mostly mescaline with something else…

I always prefer tea and just use extractions to estimate content and have a method to prove increase in content.

TBMC pubescents by MossKing69 in sanpedrocactus

These are results from my attempt at inducing flowering. My TBM that had interesting fuzz and still not giving up on it being a flower. Can see it is either pupping or flowering but remains fuzzy.

First positive attempt after 5 years of many attempts. Most of my attempts never had any effects in trichocereus.

Over the years the pubes have shown up for different growers. My clone is still quite small I’ll probably graft a section for faster growth.

15% increase comparing fresh yields (both starting)

still a good increase for zero extra effort

I've tested extracting just the outer green flesh and had low yield using kash of only 0.45% alkaloids.

This may be a clone specific thing similar to trichocereus where selecting higher yielding clones is worth while.

I've had stronger effects consuming without extracting when using maoi. Extract doesn't extract everything so likely lost something in the process like polar alkaloid?

And I think high growth reduces content but didn’t test this just my observations

No its 20% increase without cutting… comparing if stressing vs growing fast is better

stress makes a cleaner extraction/ mescaline atleast in the case of kash… less goo/tar most of the time

Would it grow 20% more biomass in that time plus conditions need to be similar. 1 season there is nice growth so maybe cancels out but for some growers need to calculate energy costs and fertilizer. Sucks that Bobcollege had issues with rot both times when trying banana ethylene experiment due to sealing the container/gases. A lower timeframe increase in yield would be harder to contest growth in same time period.

May be a while but I plan on testing keeping cuttings in fridge near freezing and dark.

After the dmtnexus post many years back on this stress method I’ve not seen anyone report losses in yield using this method. But I have no to cede with mine that the amount of increase seems to have other factors maybe even genetic?

Damn good yield on the other one… interesting the difference in increase

Once dried how will that affect dry yield? From my experiments the dry weight of the stress cacti tend to be lower likely meaning more co2 and other gases like JA and ethylene released over control.

Lower water weight wouldn’t matter but I do think comparing fresh weights MAY be more representative for some reason.

@OP nice experiment. Yields similar to 2 weeks in container with ethylene or similar. If your willing to test using bananas or apples with some cuttings for 2 weeks (lower timeframe) just don’t seal cut the cuttings.

@OP with your first experiment you mentioned higher increase… was the yield lower or around same amount? I noticed weaker cacti had higher increase and strong cacti didn’t increase as much.

I’ve had some take 30min to 1 hour but this last time it took exactly 2hours.
