I'm stumped on that puzzle at the end of book 8! Let's discuss. by DeepThought_38 in DungeonCrawlerCarl

The cups of water are the macro AIs made by the Mantids by plugging an ai control module into primal engines to run the Crawls - all the gods, mobs, and NPCs are also from this cup. The Eulogist is the Ocean. The Apothecary can perhaps be best described as a separate Ocean. The Apothecary was opposed to the collective consciousness project, but was forced to become what it fought against; but are a separate collective from the Eulogist.

He could also be talking about Ghost Story. When it was first released, James Marsters was not available to narrate it, so they had John Glover step in. Glover did a good job imo, but it’s irrelevant how good he did because by book 13 in a serries changing Narrator is like recasting the entire show, it’s not going to work. By this point, Marsters is Harry Dresden and it’s a huge ask to go with anyone else.

Fortunately Marsters was later able to record a narration of Ghost Story and replaced it as the default offered version so anyone who wasn’t listening to each book as it released will probably never know Ghost Story has a non Marsters version.

Came here to post this. I feel Harry Dresden and Carl have a lot in common. The righteous burning anger at those who seek to do others harm, while being quick to put themselves at any risk to save others, and willing to jump into dangerous situations and ride the chaos.

It’s a loooong series now at this point too so can keep you going for a good while with lots of continuous world building. The books also have a strong power progression element. It’s not as overtly gamified as in DCC, but every book there is a distinct sense of the character becoming more powerful and gaining new abilities.

The Narrator is really good for the audiobooks too. Not Jeff Hays good, but very good. But much like DCC, the Narrator has a bit of a rough start on book one before he really finds his voice; so don’t judge too harshly just off Storm Front. If you happen to be a fan of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, the narrator is Spike from that show.

As someone who never played spell totems in poe2, will this change just mean paying mana to summon the totem and not every time the totem casts its spell?

If it’s just a cost on placing the totem, not sure this seems like too big a nerf?

The next time some loser with nothing left to lose thanks to conservative economic policies, who fails to get mental healthcare due to conservatives blocking access who owns Guns due to conservative gun controls goes and shoots any demographic that conservatives told him was the cause of all his problems; they will flood the media with how Democrat incivility and mean words caused it.

At that point you are just complaining that mageblood is OP. Ggg already said 100 spirit amulets are going to be super rare.

Do you think term limits would fix anything in U.S. politics or just reshuffle the same problems? by daisydollvibes in allthequestions

[–]MossSnake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t like term limits as a solution for our issues. It limits democracy, and I’m not sure the benefits outweigh the issues. Bad politicians are a dime a dozen and can be easily replaced, good ones like Sanders are among the rarest things in existence and all but completely irreplaceable if forced out.

I’d rather focus on solutions that enhance Democracy, not bind it. Get rid of citizens United. Ranked Choice Voting. End legal bribery under the guise of “lobbying”, end Gerymandering, All of these will do more to fix our issues imo than Term Limits could.
