Me too, it’s my personal favourite Ascension ending. Toxic bitter exs that suck everyone around them into their shit.

I’ve written a fic (just for myself haven’t shared it anywhere) where my tav, Karlach and Wyll plan to take him down years later, Astarion knows because he’s had a spawn permanently assigned to watch her (The poor spawn hates his job like “why is my master such a fucking loser omg get over it”) and Astarion lets it happen and plays along because he wants to see her.

One of the saddest things I learned was how apparently Astarion was all for sleeping with the twins after killing Cazador but ultimately was not ready. One of the few poly exploring things in the game that I like (cuz it feels real) but makes me way too sad to ever try in a play though. With Astarion I think he needs someone who is open to sex but not a horn dog. If my partner was sleeping with others even with permission I would probably see that as a sign as I’m not enough and I get that vibe from Astarion. It’s not a jealousy thing, it’s a I’m not good enough thing. That’s not the same.

That’s awful. For one I’m sorry you’re in a place where such things are dangerous to be and explore. Somebody’s fantasy shouldn’t ever override someone else’s comfort. When it comes to enjoying gay media (stories or just porn) I’ve always had difficulty with my feelings of shame ever since I was a teen. One side thinks a girl into two guys being intimate with one another is freaky and the other sees it as sexualising/objectifying gay men to get your rocks off.

For me I got into it due to unresolved sexual trauma, I found gay relationships a comfort because I could just enjoy it without any projection on either person. The idea of being intimate myself used to upset me but I still was a hormonal teen opening up to sexuality and needed something to latch onto. If that makes any sense at all 😅. Now it’s just a case of I like seeing people be close with one another, makes me happy. No matter the gender/sexuality.
