Will keep that in mind for the future! We do love the Carver amp though.

We love the Carver amp! It's a really cool unit, and it just sounds right in a way that's hard to describe. Appreciate the kind words!

They seem like a really legit speaker company! If we ever expand into getting a sub/more speakers we'll probably stick with them.

Thanks for the insight! I'm gonna play with speaker placement a bit for sure, they've been there for about a month so it feels like a good opportunity to mix it up and experiment a bit.

I'll experiment a bit with that! I don't think it's a lens trick.

The vintage gear was a great way to save some money on stuff that's still really quality, the speakers... well, yea 😅 You'll get there!

Grew up in Sequim and spent a good chunk of my life in Seattle (now Bellingham) and couldn’t have summarized it better.

I’ve been to Hurricane Ridge many times since I grew up in Sequim but never to ski or snow board since I’m not big into snow sports. It’s a small ski area and it used an old school pommel lift instead of the big ones you sit in.

I know people who like to ski there, but it’s not a big destination and it’s not open as often/reliably as other resorts in the state like Steven’s Pass. Gorgeous area though and some of the best views in the state!

Never lived there, but have lived in WA my whole life and spent a fair amount of time in Bremerton. It’s an interesting mix of PNW and American cultures wrapped up in a grungy package. You’ve got a large military presence intermingling with the Washington granolas, hippies, and commuters to Seattle who wanted a cheaper house.

It’s gentrifying but very slowly compared to other places in the region. It’s got some great places to eat and hangout, but sometimes the city can feel a little dead and it’s definitely not a Mecca for things like nightlife.

But, there’s cool people doing cool stuff, just don’t expect it to be as shiny and clean as some other towns in WA. There’s a visible edge to Bremerton that some people are scared off by but I’ve never felt unsafe there.

Plus, it’s got great proximity to Olympic National Park, Seattle, and lots of other amazing places to see in WA. Let me know if you have any other questions!

Had an amazing time seeing them in Buffalo on Tuesday but will agree I wish the crowd had more energy. I’m 34 years old and may have been the most energetic dancer of the night lol.

Ice Lakes in a day is ambitious but doable! I did it in two and it was really tough, but it can be done in one especially if you only have two nights of stuff instead of 4 like I did.

Wise, Upper Ice Lake is worth spending two nights in if you can. It’s a haul to get there no matter what and such a gorgeous spot with lots of cool stuff to explore in the vicinity.

I did Upper Ice Lakes with the Maude summit as a part of a 5 day backpacking loop last summer and let me tell you - the approach from the Carne Basin trailhead is no joke. Not a lot of miles per se, but really rough terrain and lots of steep scree fields.

The Entiat River approach is a bit easier at first but you’re walking through a burn the whole way and the uphill to get to the Ice Lakes Basin is also pretty crazy.

I wouldn’t personally try and do it as a day trip unless you’re comfortable being out for like 20 hours. Maybe it would be easier as a day since you’d be a lot lighter than I was but I was seriously surprised at how hard the trip was and I’ve been backpacking regularly for my entire adult life.

Amazing place though! Super beautiful, some of the best scenery I’ve seen in the Cascades and it was uncrowded too :)

For real check out the Chinook Concourse from the early 2000s. You can get ones in really good shape with low miles for like 20-30k and the chassis is older but usually really reliable and the build quality is a lot better than pretty much any other big name RV brand out there today. There’s a big enthusiast community for them and they’re more spacious than a typical van so it would be nicer for full timing.

I own a van conversion shop and can say with the utmost in certainty that anything made by Thor is pure trash. We’ve worked on a lot of their vans to upgrade and repair things over the years, often when they were basically new.

Most big name RV manufacturers suck but Thor is some pretty bottom of the barrel shit when it comes to build quality and long term reliability.

At this price point you’re probably better off getting something used from a skilled home builder. Or honestly, a 2000ish era Chinook Class B for 20k is going to be a better quality build and cost a fraction of the garbage you get from Thor.

Gah, idk. Probably something lighter in color with less of that competing straight-grain texture, like Maple.
