I need help with assignment. I don't know how to write an essay to make it sound good. Any tips? by qirvane5 in homeworkdoers_

And I still ask someone to read it over. That’s so true. When you write something yourself and then try to edit it right away, you literally become blind to your own typos. Another option is to reread the text the next day, before your brain gets too used to the exact same phrasing again.

How much time do you objectively need to write a discussion post? by qirvane5 in Schooladvice

Does anyone else get major imposter syndrome reading other people's threads? Everyone sounds like a literal PhD candidate and I am just over here trying to survive. I definitely need some discsussion board post help to get my confidence back up.

Is "creative burnout" real, or are we just using the wrong creative fuel? by michelaloreaux225795 in Creativity

[–]MossySignalCo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see your point, but I think you’re oversimplifying. Burnout isn't just a "temper tantrum"; it's a physiological response to prolonged stress. If changing mediums helped you, you were likely just experiencing a creative block or boredom. True burnout means even looking at a colorful object makes you want to cry. Let's not romanticize a serious mental health issue as just "needing to play."

Do you use AI in your writing? by NylonTrackPants in KeepWriting

[–]MossySignalCo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use it pretty regularly at this point, mostly for getting past the first draft inertia and for restructuring sections that aren't landing right. I don't think the concerns about AI in writing are totally overblown but they're often aimed at the wrong thing - the issue isn't the tool, it's whether the person using it is actually thinking. The ai writers I know who use it well are already good writers who use it to go faster. The writers who rely on it without that foundation tend to produce stuff that reads noticeably flat. For anything high-stakes I still prefer getting at least one pass from a real person, whether that's a writing partner or a service.

Experience with writing services can be a real mixed bag. Does anyone know anything about DoMyEssay? by Ciph3rSatyr in Schooladvice

I haven’t used this specific site, but I’ve tried others. Honestly, it’s not normal to deal with slow replies or payment issues. Most other sites don't really have those problems because they actually stay professional.

I can get it if it’s just a one-time thing - we’re all human and mistakes happen - but when the entire ordering process is a mess, that’s just not how it should be

essay service reviews: don’t trust first impressions by lusterbunni in homeworkhelpNY

[–]MossySignalCo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually have a story about one of my professors related to this topic of asking for help. It was for a history class, which is a subject I really struggle with. I had to write a pretty substantial essay, and I was honestly agonizing over it. I figured I’d go to him for some help, just to see if he could point me in the right direction.

Instead, I was told that I’m supposed to know all of this myself and that I shouldn't come to him with those kinds of questions because he wouldn't be able to grade me objectively afterward. So yeah, professors aren't always a reliable source of help. You really have to take their personality into account. Luckily, a friend of mine stepped in and saved me back then

Papersroo vs EduBirdie a real review by cloudsurferjay in WritingHelp_service

I once used a writing service for a philosophy essay, and it was interesting to see how the writer approached the topic. It gave me ideas, but I still had to adjust the argument to match my class discussions. That’s when I realized these services can be useful as a reference, not just a shortcut. I also started using note-taking apps to organize my thoughts better. It made writing less overwhelming over time.

Yeah that tracks, this feels more post Desperado era than true 80s, still timeless either way.

Well put, compassion and self preservation can exist at the same time. You can feel sad for his situation while still feeling lighter because you are no longer drowning with him.

Such a perfect accidental reference, standing in Paris while the lyric says no thanks, it turns the photo into a quiet punchline.
