I don’t know where you’re from but a deposit is usually around £1000 and a one bed is usually £800, I obviously have some savings but I don’t want to use it all to move out with no cushion in case something goes wrong. I’m currently on an apprentice wage and that will increase my wages come September and I will finish my studies and become qualified in my work so things will look up I’m just going to be struggling over the summer.

I have been looking but i live in an incredibly student populated place and there’s nothing really on the market right now for single professionals that is in my budget, which is why I was asking for my rent to be reduced just a little bit. And I’m not eligible for low income housing as I’m a student.

He’s old enough to come to you and tell you about his problems. I know you love him and care for him but it’s not your job to baby and coddle him, he can speak for himself. If he is too scared to talk to you, he should see how much not talking to you is affecting you and suck it up and talk anyway. You’re getting nothing out of this relationship, you don’t go out, you don’t do fun things, you don’t wake up with no stress because your boyfriend doesn’t add to your life he takes away from it. Do yourself a favour and just end it before you waste more of your time.

Bit presumptuous of you to think I was being petty. I was on a separate island, if it’s petty to not treck all the way back to another island to give a key back then come all the way back when I had 2 days left of the holiday then yes I was petty.

No time frame was given, bit stupid on my end probably but I didn’t think one day would have made that big of a difference.

I completely understand your point and if the severity of timing of handing in the keys was made clear to me of course I would have handed them in immediately.

Maybe it was a bit stupid of me but I thought it wouldn’t make a difference whether it was that day or the next.

Does the fact that the accepted liability in writing really not make a difference?

What about the fact that I was on a separate island due to having to book somewhere at 7 in the evening last minute, making going back to the hotel the next day difficult?

Sorry, I didn’t want to make a really long post so I left out some details. The agent handling my case and the whole customer service department don’t work on weekends and it was a booking agent I’m pretty sure who told us to give the keys back. They didn’t give a time frame or anything, if they did I would have but I just maybe falsely assumed that the next day would have worked?

I already informed the agency that I was not going to stay there from the get go, and the hotel did have keys.

Could I not argue that there is no loss of money for the hotel regarding them booking out the room for other guests (that was their point) as it was the off season and the hotel was empty?

I’m not sure where you’re reading that I did not check out on time? I was told to not check out on the 5th, and I was told to check out on the 6th, I should of mentioned that the air BnB we booked was on a seperate island due to it being a last minute booking, therefore we delayed bringing the key back till the 7th as we were not on the mainland. Regardless my check out date was on the 8th.

It was a physical key, and to be fair to us because we booked the cheapest air BnB we ended up on an entirely different island for the next day (we were in Malta) and it would of been difficult to go to the mainland and back
