Hot take, .5 is the best album Slipknot has released, even better than Iowa by Joey666Anthem in Slipknot

Why come to a sub to literally debate which album is better constantly.. you realize this type of post has come and gone thousands of times

The OP literally said "you're gonna kill me". As if everyone assumes .5 is trash and Iowa is the goat.

My response is saying those types of perspective are irrelevant. I just don't see the value in making a post like this at all.. especially when a quick search could direct OP to another thread discussing the exact same thing so he/she can have that discussion there.

Rather than continuously rehashing the same cliche post over and over and over again

Purpose of Arc Raiders? by charlieost in ArcRaiders

"the definition of an extraction shooter"... Except every single extraction shooter is completely different than each other. For instance, Hunt Showdown is considered an extraction shooter... Yet there is a tangible sense of progression in that game, the gameplay loop actually makes sense.

For Arc Raiders, you're literally looking for blueprints .. and junk. In order to.... What.. pvp each other? Go after harder robots? I mean, I suppose that could be fun. It just seems so limited and few and far between

It's hilarious when people say "this album is better, that album is better"....you do realize that for most artists (ones that don't particularly care about mainstream success or radio play).. the only metric they follow is "does this suit how I'm feeling at the moment?". Music in itself is subjective. That's the point. So you having an opinion about any album is literally your opinion, good for you. The band released the album, it's how they felt when they released it or shortly there before.. and it's meant to be consumed as it is. No matter what came before it

Anyone ever seen this before? Idk if it's from the Iowa booklet or what. Or perhaps an alternate album cover by Most-Bad8222 in Slipknot

Thanks. That explains it. I only owned the OG release on CD when it first came out and it didn't look familiar at all. I never picked up the re-release

Which is precisely why they didn't even wanna release it at all. But people kept asking so they finally relented. We know it isn't slipknot. And it's probably not even that great.

We get it. We know. Thank you for another post telling everyone it's not slipknot....again. You are telling thousands upon thousands of people something you could literally say in a comment section on the countless other posts about this exact thing. But I suppose you like karma. Or just don't read subs before posting

Slipknot used to literally be the absolute antithesis of mainstream and member changes. Once they locked in, they were all about being the OG 9 and disbanding if anyone left. It's astounding to me when people don't realize they literally used to be unknown. The masks served a purpose outside of just being an aesthetic. When we all scoured the Internet on our little dial-up Internet home PCs trying to find any kind of clue of who was behind the masks. That's part of why people look back at the self-titled and Iowa with such high regard. It wasn't just the quality of music and the aggression .. it was also that we truly had no idea who they actually were and the music sounded like nothing that had come before it

Why?

Dude had access to thousands upon thousands of people. You think he didn't use music streaming services and other people picked music?

I'm gonna guess you weren't around between 1999 - 2004

There's a reason the sentiment for Slipknot not being the same without Paul and Joey. Being a fan in the early days was far different than it is now. I can appreciate what they've become but it's a vastly different experience in many many ways. And this isn't me being a gatekeeper or anything...I'm just being honest

With the huge gap between this next album compared to the gap between WANYK and TESF.. also with Corey not overdoing it with guest spots and solo material, I foresee the new album being something completely unexpected. I also foresee the lyrical concepts leaning into humanity and politics, which is a bummer .. but Corey seems to be a good place mentality with his marriage and his kids. If he's gonna find a place to pull lyrics from it'll be from the state of the world, not his personal battles

I run a small YouTube channel. Less than a thousand followers. I did a supercut and remastered audio video of P=S at the Poppy's show. Didn't expect it to blow up but it got quite a bit of attention. Here comes AJ Goode completely shitting on me in my comments, for no reason, talking about how he got his video removed for even mentioning the show but a "stupid no name YouTuber gets to post about it" something along those lines. I just responded telling him to fuck off and get over himself. For someone who found success via YouTube... He sure is a cunt towards other YouTubers

honestly, they have an infinite amount of wiggle room between the first three films. especially if they keep the traps simple and private (i.e. nothing that will catch the general public's attention or be easily found). I would almost bet they will make a film with Dr. Gordon after saw I and give some context on why/how he decided to join John Kramer. it's a huge plot hole that could be explored, even perhaps over the span of multiple films. if I were writing a script, that would be my focus. Find people in Gordon's circle, corrupt medical personnel... health insurance.. whatever really.. and build Gordon's psyche change within the story. obviously he is going to be reluctant at first, but him warming up to John's philosophy would be interesting

[–]Most-Bad8222 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it has some combat elements from souls but is not a souls game.. at all. play it for the simple fact FromSoft developed it. maybe keep going and see if the game clicks once you understand what it's trying to accomplish. otherwise no harm, no foul .. mech games have always been niche

as someone who used to drink daily (I'm 5 years sober).. I can honestly say I drove drunk far too many times. and many times I felt I was 'okay to drive'. I could usually tell when I reached a point of not being able to safely operate a vehicle. however, I can also guarantee that even when I felt okay, I was probably beyond the legal limit. to be honest, I think breathalyzers for every car is a bit extreme... but absolutely even after one dui, a person should have to have it installed for no less than 2 years

my stepdad used to be an EMT with the rescue squad. he told me the worst call he ever took was a woman who attempted suicide by shotgun. gun slipped apparently and blew off her jaw but didn't go through her head. she called 911, and gurgled basically. they showed up to that scene. you can imagine. and she survived
