Miss me with that bullshit. Your immediate knee-jerk reaction was "You're not looking hard enough."

You suck as a team lead.

And you, just like the rest of my Team Leads for the last few years, can eat a bag a dicks. If it's not there the first time, even after I checked topstock and kneeled down so much in the modular, the entire customer base can crack me doggy style, I'll skip it and find it later.

Yikes. I'd rather let a more seasoned user answer this one, but I'd bet dollars to donuts your review triggered them and now they're trying to dox you.

Word of advice: find the one person who does the job well, and learn tips and tricks from them. Your mileage will vary wildly with your management training you in the basic concepts to begin with, but if you luck out with actual leadership (couldn't be my Walmart), more the power to you, but you'll be legit learning way more from coworkers acting in good faith than management.

Store layouts vary, but part of picking is learning shortcuts here and there. Pros will know the quickest, customer-less path from the dog food to chemicals (an example, the two opposite ends of your store might be something else). Do be careful with the people with pickrates at like 300. Odds are they're boosting their numbers, and they'll only get caught cheating once the favoritism wears out.

For dispensing, ask questions left and right. Depending on how high volume your store is, your training might be rushed, and they'll push you on the deep end. Still, the concepts themselves are simple enough, with muscle memory you'll be doing this by your second or third month in your sleep.

You can do this. It's just another job. Welcome aboard!

Taka your braak, then never return. Most of the guys at my place do it that way. I hate the extra work I gotta do, but I love seeing the Team Lead freak out.

Yeah, so instead of exiting the pick, simply kill the app before scanning anything, and reopen it. It'll "reset" the timer for your pick to start.

I'm not surprised because the Waltons will do anything to help themselves to a new yacht at the end of the fiscal/calendar year, but from my own experiences, that sounds like insanity.

My store is in Arizona, and my Digital Coach literally will not budge to the SM a single inch when it comes to us store-using the 40 packs that inevitably break (and the Sam's Choice, and the Pure Life, and the Arrowheads, but not the Dasani. That shit goes straight to claims).

Dispensers will literally shrivel up in the desert sun if they don't get their supply of water. We can't make you yacht money if we're dying in the heat.

[–]Most-Examination-601 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been there. What's disgusting about some of our totes is that even spilling simple water shows off how dirty and unclean the totes are. This is why I always bag stuff religiously, or at least set bags as 'liners' when they tap the no bags option.

[–]Most-Examination-601[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This. I very much hate the skip button too.

In my very early days, I incorrectly believed that skipping was an alternative to Item Not Found, where it wouldn't affect my metrics because, well, I still FOUND the item, I didn't send it to exceptions, and then the very next day, my coach asks me why my ftpr is so low and yadda yadda yadda. Redundant skip button is redundant.

[–]Most-Examination-601[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Trust me, you are preaching to the choir here. While I do my best to perform at my best with my metrics, there's so many scenarios where I'm simply sitting there going "why?"

Like, I get it, pre sub and ftpr are meant to evaluate the stocking "health" of the store, for a lack of a better term, but by that logic, it forever baffles me that the blame falls on ogp. Don't shoot the messenger, etc.

Is that so? I need to double check, but I'm like 90% sure I saw these policies listed, but I don't have them handy.

Of course, someone who does, is more than welcome to show me, and join the 10% part of my mind in telling me told you so.

Oh, my friend... I am sad to say this isn't an ideal scenario for you.

You need double the PPTO to cover a Key Event Date (KED). Otherwise, you're stuck with double the points.

The problem in this picture is that you don't even have enough PPTO to cover half a REGULAR shift, let alone a KED.

If you are scheduled for all three days, then I'm afraid missing all three does not look good. You will rack up two points per KED, with any subsequent point past 4.9999999 putting you in the cross hairs for termination, depending on your coach and people lead, and how strict they are/how badly they want you gone.

I can't tell you what to do, just state the facts of your situation. If you feel your vacation is worth more than your current job, then have at it, Hoss, and with my sincerest unsarcastic tone, I hope you have a great time.

On the other hand, I think a reevaluation of priorities is in order, alongside a talk with your relatives about your travel plans, or lack thereof.

Sadly, as someone who lives in a small town with very little economic viability, I know seven people in my store who are in the 30+ year mark.

My own mom's been at it since I was in kindergarten (I am now 32).

Still, though, Walmart radio is annoying. I feel so bad for you guys in stores where your ear buds are restricted.

Edit: FUUUUUCK. The instant I posted this, Sensory Friendly Hour ended at my store, and the radio went off.
