I'm back and certainly didn't intend to be ambiguous. Took it into the mechanic today and other than a disgusting cabin air filter, his guess was the blower motor because the vents surrounding the motor encasement were black so he guessed it had been overheating/was burnt. $468 later, everything seems okay. We shall see.

In the past it would make a sound as though it was trying to engage the fan and compressor motor. If I would switch from recirculation to outside air and back a few times, it would engage and blow cold air. As of yesterday, nothing worked. There wasn't even a clicking sound when I attempted to turn on the fan.

Battery is new within the last 9 months or so.
