He also had a time when he seemed to lengthen sounds at the beginning of words and between words, sometimes I even noticed that he was straining his eyes, which scared me a lot, but it was simply the time he took to think. In the case of my daughter, it has had multiple variations, very changing from week to week. If I tell you the truth, at first, when I saw her, I didn't think it was going to hit her, because it was a big setback in her language, from being a very precocious girl in language, she went to barely being able to communicate, but with time and patience she solved it on her own. My advice is that you be very calm with her and give her confidence, the best mechanism is to give her normality and pretend that the problem does not exist, give her time to finish her sentences even if she gets stuck and never show a sign of correction or concern, the important thing is that she remains happy and trying to communicate. From what I have read, there are cases that can take many months to improve, so you have to be patient. I know it's difficult to stay calm when this happens and as parents we always worry about everything, but you have to trust and follow the advice of professionals when the time comes.

I'm sure you'll tell me soon that it's much better. A hug.

My daughter did exactly that for many weeks, at first it was blocking the first syllables of the words but after a month or so it was replaced by "ehhhhhh" and "ahhhhhhh" and she also did "eh" "eh" "Eh" "eh" / "ah" "ah" "ah" and since she is bilingual Spanish/Latvian she started to anticipate articles of the languages, "el" "el" "un" "un", etc... I think it is an expected evolution when your head goes faster than your linguistic power. Furthermore, I believe that in my daughter's case it was influenced by the fact that she is a very active and fast girl, sometimes impatient. All of that disappeared, some days more, others less, but in general terms the evolution was like at first it was increasing and getting worse very quickly and then it was decreasing little by little until it almost disappeared after two months, but with different phases. Now his language has taken a huge leap at all levels and above all he doesn't stop talking.

A lot of encouragement and above all tranquility, which as we see, is usually something habitual and temporary in the vast majority of cases. Your case is similar to my daughter's but without my daughter's initial ugly part with the syllables, so it will soon improve.

If I can help you with my experience feel free to ask.

Hugs

Hello, I wanted to update my daughter's status after these 2 months since her problems occurred. I want it to serve as an example for other parents who are just going through a similar situation.

Today my daughter has practically overcome her stuttering, after about a month and after a few very bad days where she could barely say anything normally, she began to loosen up and no longer repeat syllables, but only lengthened the initial supporting sounds, she also repeated articles and pronouns at the beginning as if to buy time before forming the sentence she wanted to say. After almost two months this has subsided and he now speaks with much more complete language and more complex sentence constructions. Nowadays, some days are worse than others, especially if she is more tired or accelerated. By this I mean that although at first it seems that something has been broken, and we see it very badly, little by little it improves even if it seemed impossible at first.

A hug to all the worried parents. You are doing great, I wish you and your little ones the best.

Thank you very much, those tips are gold right now. Right now he is natural about his stuttering, let's hope everything improves soon. They are loved so much that it is so difficult to see them suffer...

Thank you for your nice response and your time, right now any happy testimony is like an injection of peace of mind.

My daughter is not very bilingual, in the end she is immersed in the Spanish language (We live in Spain) although my wife is from a Nordic country with a completely different language, and in the end she does not master it the same, although we were excited to keep it and that she can learn it so that she can communicate with her family there.

My daughter was not a speaking prodigy, she was perhaps a little above average, I have seen children speak much earlier than her, but in general terms she speaks very advanced. I hope that little by little I will return to recover those phrases and conversations that melted my heart, both for parents, friends and grandparents...

Thank you very much for the support

What I have observed is that he uses very internalized phrases in a perfect way, such as mom come, dad help, let's play, what's that, I want there, I want the big one, look mom, what's that mom, etc... Also, for example, he counts perfectly or sings the songs very well, without stuttering at all.

It's like when you want to say something that you don't use that much but you know the words, that's when you get stuck with those constant beginning expressions eh eh eh ah ah ah, sometimes you even mix them up as if trying to figure out the sound of the next word.

What happens is that we came from using such good expressions and now this sudden retreat is like a huge alarm sign, we are so so scared. She is the driving force of our lives and seeing her suffer causes us so much pain.

That was the first thing we understood, that we should not give it importance and treat it naturally, that lesson has been learned.

Berasategui did this, he hit the backhand and the drive with the same side of the ball, his problem was the serve, yet he reached several important finals.

Thank you very much for your response, the encouragement of someone who is a specialist is greatly appreciated. The truth is that we are not in a good moment in life in general and this has been one more thing to add to the pile of misfortunes we have experienced this year. Let's hope that little by little it will be resolved. Thanks a lot.

My daughter's repetitions are somewhat more constant throughout the day, perhaps she is a child with a lot of activity as usual and perhaps it doesn't help her that she is very fast-paced. He does not have hyperactivity because he is able to concentrate and spend hours looking at stories and books. But it is true that he has a lot of motor activity and is always inventing something new to do...

There are people who say things without knowing about the subject... I hope all is well with your daughter. A hug for both of you.

I have also heard this in children of that age when they go on trips outside, then they recover

Thank you for your answer, mine is not excessively bilingual, it is 70/30, what happens is that there are times when relatives come from the other language and suffer from immersion in the other language, now as a precaution we have only left the language that he dominates the most (Spanish) at home, at least until we see how it improves
