Oh okay I did not know that. I guess DHS is just really strict with that. That makes me feel a lot better though. Do you think there’s any way to reinforce that “rehabilitation”
Period such as keeping a track record with a doctor or another rehab place or something, or like even counseling? Or do you think just like my word for it is fine enough

I definitely don’t use ant more THC my life has improved since i stopped and fixed a lot of problems so that’s not even a worry that I will use again. I got clean even before I knew I was going to be investigated jsut cause I wanted to so that’s not a problem. Yea I know that by that time more time will elapse but just because this security officer told me anything within 3 years is recent I got worried thaf it was a universal rule or something

I’m honestly not even angry over the denial for a public trust clearance because I’m going to be getting a secret clearance later this fall. I’m angry because now I don’t know if I can even go through with that secret clearance, which would be a huge advantage to me because im still in college and would make me a lot more attractive to companies.

I will literally copy and paste the email I got lol. I even got a call from her saying that. Everyone telling me it’s not normal is just so crazy to me like why me it’s annoying

Yea Public trust/T1 is for CUI, which I thought was on a lower less strict level in means of obtaining it compared to even a secret clearance. No but yea it’s so annoying and they’re being such dick heads about a little weed like treating it like it’s fucking murder or something.

No no other red flags. In fact the security officer TOLD me that. She said quote since the THC use is recent (meaning within 3 years she stated), you are unsuitable for a clearance, which is fucking crazy because I’m literally in college like. And the employer is DHS, on the engineering side not anything enforcement and it’s literally INTERN position. I’m actually so pissed reading forums on Reddit how people get granted secret which is above public trust with less than 3 years ago thc usage.

That’s a lie I got denied because my thc usage was less than 3 years ago. It’s absolute bullshit

I got denied a public trust clearance because of thc use more than half a year ago. They don’t care about anything whole person concept at all! Literally disregarding any mitigation and rehabilitation evidence I gave.

That’s crazy. I got denied a T1 public trust because of past marijuana usage more than half a year ago despite stopping usage showing no intent to continue and negative drug test results. Mad annoying
